Wang Xiangkun and Ma Jinyang won the best men’s elite finals in Urumqi

China’s duo as Wang Xiangkun and Ma Jinyang won the lightest and the heaviest men’s elite weight categories in Urumqi, Xinjiang region.
China hosted national and international events already in 2025 and their next competition was the famous Belt & Road Festival in Urumqi. The 3rd Belt & Road International Youth Boxing Gala took place in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
The main objective of the new edition of the international training camp and competition was to support the preparation of the boxers for the Asian Youth Games which will be held in Bahrain and also for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
The Chinese Boxing Federation and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Municipal Government are the organizers of the Festival.
Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, Cuba, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Yemen all decided to send strong teams in Urumqi.
The official and full name of the competition was the Belt & Road International Youth Boxing Gala and Sports Lottery Cup, Xinjiang, China International Boxing Invitational.
China’s Henan-based Wang Xiangkun caused one of the top sensations in the day of the finals when he defeated Uzbekistan’s two-time Asian Champion Nodirjon Mirzakhmedov for the minimumweight (48kg), winning the bout by 3:2 split decision.
Guangdong’s Chen Xinlin had the same tight success over his teammate, Qian Jiahao in the final of the lightweight (60kg) while Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Schoolboys Champion Jakhongir Narziyev earned only bronze medal in Urumqi.
China’s Xinjiang-based Musitafa Muhetaer eliminated Hungary’s 19-year-old Daniel Frank and he had the tight final success over Neimeng’s Na Meila at the light welterweight (63.5kg) final bout.
Tajikistan’s ASBC bronze medallist Shokhobzhon Shukurov was too strong for Uzbekistan’s Jaloliddin Turapov in the final of the middleweight (75kg) and his opponent abandoned the unequal title contest in the first round.
In the absence of the Asian Games winner local star, Tuohetaerbieke Tanglatihan, Henan’s Liu Ziqi won the tough light heavyweight (80kg) final over a Xinjiang-based boxer, Shennaer Haerwu by 3:2 split decision.
Uzbekistan’s 2021 World Championships bronze medallist Madiyar Saydrakhimov stopped China’s Shi Tianlin at the heavyweight (92kg) final while Ma Jinyang had the control over Diliyaer Kaisaier at the super heavyweight (+92kg) title contest.
