Uzbekistan’s best female boxers train in Fujian

The management of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation sent their best female boxers to a joint international training camp to Fujian, China.

The Uzbek girls amazed at the recent IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Nis, Serbia where their boxers earned one silver and three bronze medals.

Their 24-year-old Navbakhor Khamidova, the two-time ASBC Asian Champion at the women’s welterweight (66kg), bagged their first ever silver medal in the event’s history.

The Uzbek female boxers bagged also 3 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals in the recent edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The former Asian Games winner Mr. Elshod Rasulov is the head coach of the women’s elite national team and he selected a strong pool of boxers to continue the preparations after one of the main events.

The Uzbek women’s elite team has been preparing in the city of Fujian where they can meet against strong Chinese opponents in their training sessions.  

The 22-year-old Farzona Fozilova is the defending ASBC Asian Elite Champion at the women’s minimumweight (48kg) and she has all the skills and potentials to be the World’s No.1 in the near future.

Sabina Bobokulova and Feruza Kazakova all are multiple ASBC Asian Champions from the junior, youth and U22 levels. Both boxers competed in all of the major tournaments this year and the 22-year-old youngsters defeated some of the top stars as well.

Nigina Uktamova is the fourth talent from their 2003 born age group who competed in China first before joining the national team back. The 2021 edition’s ASBC Asian Elite Champion Sitora Turdibekova moved back to the lightweight which is perfect for her.

The two-time ASBC Asian Elite Champion Navbakhor Khamidova is in top shape at the welterweight this year and she is in the level of the best in the world now. The 20-year-old Aziza Zokirova is stronger in all of her competitions and she had important experience as an elite in the recent one and half year.

Sokhiba Ruzmetova returned to the national squad while the 19-year-old ASBC Asian Youth Champion Oltinoy Sotimboyeva is their heaviest boxer in the squad.
