Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan shared the titles at the Saidakmal Mukarramov International Junior Tournament

The new edition of the Saidakmal Mukarramov International Junior Tournament finished with its 14 final contests in Khudjand, Tajikistan.
Altogether 155 boxers competed in the junior international tournament from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Boxers who were born in 2007 and in 2008 were eligible to participate in this new international junior competition.
Tajikistan hosted international competitions in the 2000s and in the 2010s especially the Ismoil Hamzaaliyev Memorial Tournament and smaller regional events in the previous years. The Saidakmal Mukarramov International Junior Tournament was the first huge competition in Tajikistan this year.
Asilbek Abduraimov of Uzbekistan won the first final in Khudjand, he was able to beat Sharifkhon Nuraliyev who represented the Khatlon region of Tajikistan in the event. Abubakr Khasanzoda defeated all of his four opponents at the pinweight (46kg) including Jakhongir Kamalov and won the first title for the host city.
Mukhammadjon Tulaganov has strong future potential and he proved his very best at the light flyweight (48kg) in Khudjand therefore the young Uzbek celebrated his title in the third final of the competition. Uzbekistan’s next sensation, Khusan Kakhkhorov made the next remarkable performance and defeated an Azeri boy, Ali Baghishov at the flyweight (50kg).
Abubakr Kobilov (52kg), Shodmekhr Davlatov (54kg) and Abdullo Karimzoda (57kg) achieved three-in-a-row gold medals for Tajikistan. The boxers represented three different regions of Tajikistan, Khudjand, the capital Dushanbe and the Khatlon. Kobilov delivered one of the top sensations of the entire tournament when he defeated Uzbekistan’s No.1, Shokhjakhon Kakhkhorov in the semi-finals.
Dushanbe’s Mukhammadsulton Sultonov continued Tajikistan’s winning path, he had a tight success over Uzbekistan’s Farkhod Ismailov at the lightweight (60kg). Uzbekistan’s Elbek Bakhtiyorov defeated a Tajik opponent in his final at the light welterweight (63kg), Isfandiyor Khoshimov of the Khatlon region.
Uzbekistan’s Jasur Olimjonov won an important selection bout in the final of the welterweight (66kg) against his teammate, Shokhjakhon Alisherov. Uzbekistan’s Kilich Khamzayev was dominant at the middleweight (75kg), he looked unstoppable against Kazakhstan’s Maulen Kurmanov.
Kazakhstan’s Igor Solovyev claimed a silver medal at the 2023 Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup but since then he moved up from the light welterweight (63kg) up to the light middleweight (70kg). The 16-year-old Kazakh boxer dominated the international event in Khudjand and joined his gold medallist compatriot, Aniyat Tileuzhan (80kg).
