Ruslan Abdullayev is the hero at the Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Tournament
Uzbekistan Boxing Federation hosted its first national event in Tashkent in the year of 2016 where the number of the entered boxers was almost 200. Their first national tournament was held for the schoolboys in the capital city of the country in Tashkent where the level of the competition was high in spite of the young age of the competitors.
Boxers who were born in 2002 and in 2003 were eligible to compete in the Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Tournament which was a pre-ranking event for their youngest age group before the main events this year. Sixteen talented young boxers have been crowned in the Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Tournament in Tashkent. Tashkent, Khorezm, Namangan, Ferghana, Andizhan, Bukhara, Tashkent region and Surkhondarya all claimed at least one gold medal in the national event.
Tashkent’s Temur Kushakov had a big challenge to win the lowest weight class in the Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Tournament as 24 boxers competed in his category. The 36 kg weight class miniman defeated Avazjon Yuldashev in the first final and claimed his first national title during his career.
The second gold medal of the competition was achieved by Akhmadjon Akhmedov who trains in the city of Khorezm which is a historical one but not so famous about its boxing life. Akhmedov delivered a small sensation when he could beat favourite Jakhonmurad Imomaliyev of Andizhan in the final of the 38 kg weight class. Namangan’s Bekzod Turdialiyev’s elder brothers and sisters are boxers therefore his gold at the 40 kg weight class was not a surprise.
Tashkent region’s 14-year-old Ruslan Abdullayev is a big talent in our sport and the Uzbek coaches is waiting for his international debut successfully in the upcoming years. Abdullayev won the gold medal at the 38 kg weight class in the 2015 Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships and he was able to get another title in Tashkent after beating Mukhamadali Khasanbayev of Andizhan at the 42 kg category.
Husanboy Abdurakhmonov of Andizhan, Temurmalik Rakhmankulov from also Andizhan, Jamshidbek Ergashev of Ferghana, Rahmatullo Tashpulatov of Andizhan, Muzaffar Ulmasov of Ferghana and 14-year-old Timur Solimov of Tashkent secured their first ever national titles in Uzbekistan.
Sirodjiddin Teshabayev of Tashkent region claimed silver medal at the 2015 Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships but now he was able to change that into a brighter one. Teshabayev was too smart for Khasan Musakhanov of Namangan in the final of the Featherweight class (57 kg) and claimed his first national title. Amirshokh Samatov and talented Mukhammadali Yakhshiboyev won the last two weight classes in Tashkent.
