Usubaliyev and Abdumajidov were the heroes at the Uzbekistan Sports Schools Schoolboys National Championships

The five-days long Uzbekistan Sports School Schoolboys National Championships was held in the city of Urgench where their next generation of 13 and 14-year-old boys shined.

The event was the second main schoolboy competition in Uzbekistan after the National Championships and the age group also competed in the recent ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in Al Ain.

The boxers who were born in 2010 and in 2011 were eligible to compete in the city of Urgench which is located in the Western part of Uzbekistan. The number of the participants was 211 in the city of Urgench and only the best selected boxers could compete in each of the weight class.

The team from the Tashkent region bagged five gold medals and topped the medal standings in this national event. The city of Tashkent also amazed with its four titles in Urgench while the local squad, the Khorezm region’s boxers became the third on the rankings with two gold medals. The regions from Andizhan, Namangan, Bukhara and Samarkand all claimed at least one title in the schoolboy national event.

The 33kg is the smallest category among the schoolboys and Tashkent region’s Dilbek Vakhobjonov won the first title against Kamronbek Kuchkarov. Tashkent city’s Temirbek Saidmurodov had also a hard job in his 35kg weight class final against Mukhammadali Ergashev of Ferghana which region claimed four silver medals in Urgench.

Tashkent city’s second gold medal was achieved by Temirbek Saidmurodov at the 37kg weight class after beating Azadbek Bazarbayev in the final. Tashkent region’s Olmosbek Khamzayev also won his final unanimously as Saidmurodov, he landed the better punches than Andizhan’s Nationals silver medallist Mustafa Tursunboyev.

The local squad, the Khorezm region’s Mukhammadali Suyinov bagged their first gold medal at the 46kg following his success over Salim Teulesov. The host region’s second gold medal was taken by Otakhon Atakhanov at the 67kg weight category, he had a right success over Dzhizak’s Azizjon Azimov in the final.

Tashkent region’s defending champion, Asliddin Usubaliyev had a strong pedigree before the event and he accomplished his next national success against a local boy, Boburbek Kuryazov at the 52kg.

The ASBC Asian Schoolboys Championships silver medallist Abduvokhid Abdumajidov moved up from the 58kg up to the 64kg in the recent months and he won his next national title among the schoolboys.

Bakhodir Kholikulov (61kg) and Iskandarbek Abdullayev (+70kg) switched their previous bronze medals into gold in the city of Urgench.
