Usmonov, Narimatsu and Kaushik eliminated tough Europeans in the AIBA World Boxing Championships on Day6

The winners of the sixth day of competition are advanced to the last 16 at the AIBA World Boxing Championships in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Boxers at the flyweight (52kg), lightweight (63kg) and middleweight (75kg) were in actions on Day6 and several of our Asian stars advanced to the next stage of boxing.
The Asian teams prepared strongly to the Yekaterinburg 2019 World Boxing Championships in the recent months after the Bangkok ASBC Asian Boxing Championships and our continent has got several medal and title favourites in Russia. Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, China, Thailand, Philippines, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Jordan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan and many other teams from our continent have got world class boxers.
Altogether 107 Asian elite male boxers are attending in the event from 21 nations: Afghanistan, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Philippines, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Chinese Taipei and Uzbekistan.
Kazakhstan’s Saken Bibossynov is their new flyweight (52kg) boxer who won the Bocskai Memorial Tournament and other international competitions this year. The 22-year-old Kazakh had to do his very best against Mongolia’s strong Enkhmandakh Kharkhuu but finally his hand was raised. Philippines’ Carlo Paalam has just moved up to this category but he was able to manage his success against Hungary’s Istvan Szaka.
India’s Jakarta 2018 Asian Games winner Amit Panghal is the defending ASBC Asian Champion at the flyweight (52kg) who worked strongly against Chinese Taipei’s FISU University World Boxing Championships silver medallist Tu Po Wei and caught his opponent with tough punches. The final verdict was unanimous decision to the seeded Indian who proved he is among the medal favourites in the event.
Kyrgyzstan’s ASBC Asian Champion and their most experienced boxer Azat Usenaliev was too smart and quick for Romania’s Marian Schiopu and won their contest by large margin of differences. Usenaliev will be meeting in the last 16 with Uzbekistan’s Rio 2016 Olympic Champion Shakhobiddin Zoirov who bowed out Dominican Republic’s Panamerican Games winner Rodrigo Marte on Day6. Usenaliev defeated his top Uzbek rival in the final of the Amman 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.
Tajikistan’s defending ASBC Asian Champion Bakhodur Usmonov had a seriously tough rival in the last 32, Turkey’s AIBA Youth World Champion Tugrulhan Erdemir but the Central Asian impressed with his superb style once again. The 22-year-old Tajik lightweight (63kg) boxer was smarter in terms of tactic and technique and led clearly after two rounds of fight. Usmonov turned up the heat and the referee stopped their contest in the third round winning by bout by RSC.
Japan’s Rio 2016 Olympian Daisuke Narimatsu had to face against such strong rival as Georgia’s AIBA World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Otar Eranosyan but his skills were enough to beat his European rival. In another key contest at the lightweight (63kg) India’s Commonwealth Games runner-up Manish Kaushik eliminated Netherlands’ Rio 2016 Olympian Enrico La Cruz while Mongolia’s seeded Chinzorig Baatarsukh also advanced to the last 16 after beating China’s Shan Jun.
Kazakhstan’s ASBC Asian Champion at the middleweight (75kg) Tursynbai Kulakhmet impressed against Czech Republic’s Milos Bartl and the seeded Central Asian secured his place in the last 16. China’s Xinjiang-based Tuohetaerbieke Tanglatihan proved significant developments and defeated India’s ASBC Asian Championships silver medallist Ashish Kumar in a hectic bout.
Kyrgyzstan’s Omurbek Bekzhigit Uulu is only 19 but he is a native talent in our sport who used his strength and physical condition to eliminate Belgium’s Lancelot Proton de la Chappelle at the middleweight (75kg). Philippines’ former AIBA Junior World Champion Eumir Felix Marcial spent only 132 seconds in the ring when he stopped Morocco’s All Africa Games winner seeded Tarik Allali defeating his rival by RSC.
