Umnugovi hosts the Mongolian Junior National Championships for the very first time

The Mongolian Youth National Championships was held in the city of Darkhan-Uul earlier this month and their Junior National Championships began in Umnugovi which hosts the event for the very first time.

Umnugovi is an aimag in Mongolia, it is located in the south part of the huge country in the Gobi Desert. The land area of the Umnugovi region is 165,380 square kilometers but only 65,000 people live there in the remote region.

The 2008 and 2009 born boxers are eligible to participate in the Mongolian Junior National Championships in this historic location. The women boxers are able to participate in ten weight classes while the men talents are fighting in twelve categories in Umnugovi.

The Mongolians will be competing at the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan soon and this Junior National Championships is their selection for the upcoming ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships which is scheduled to be held in the month of August. Fifty-eight bouts were held in the first competition day at the Mongolian Junior National Championships to decide the places in the quarter-finals. The second day of boxing contained another marathon program with fifty-seven contests on the schedule in Umnugovi.
