Two new ASBC Vice-Presidents and nine ASBC EC members have been elected by the ASBC General Assembly

The most important part of the ASBC General Assembly the ASBC Elections for the Vice-Presidency and the ASBC Executive Committee memberships was held in the Grand Fourwings Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand today afternoon.
Altogether 36 delegations had the voting rights in the ASBC General Assembly and two countries attended there as Observers. All of the zones of the Asian continent sent delegations to the ASBC General Assembly and the participation figure is record in the history of any meetings of the Asian Boxing Confederation.
In accordance to the ASBC Constitution 32.1/B the Asian AIBA EC members were automatically ASBC Executive Committee members: Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira of Thailand, Ms. Shelly Selowati H. Soejono of Indonesia and Mr. Yousuf Ali Al-Kazem of Qatar.
Scrutineers were appointed before the start of the official elections according to the AIBA and ASBC rules. The elections were hold after lunch and 2 ASBC Vice-Presidents and 9 ASBC Executive Committee members have been elected by the voting delegations of the ASBC General Assembly by secret ballots in 11 rounds.
China’s Mr. Wu Di and South Korea’s Jae Joon Yoo were elected as new Vice-President of the Asian Boxing Confederation. The winners are representing each part and zones of the Asian continent.

The four ASBC Vice-Presidents after the elections
1st ASBC Vice-President – Mr. Yousuf Ali Al-Kazem of Qatar – AIBA Executive Committee member, President of the Qatar Boxing Federation – Elected in the Moscow AIBA Congress and automatically joined as ASBC Vice-President
2nd ASBC Vice-President – Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira of Thailand – AIBA Executive Committee member, President of the Thailand Boxing Association, Vice-President of the Thailand National Olympic Committee – Elected in the Moscow AIBA Congress and automatically joined as ASBC Vice-President
3rd ASBC Vice-President – Mr. Wu Di of China – AIBA Executive Committee member, received 27 votes in the first round of the ASBC Vice-President elections at the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok
4th ASBC Vice-President – Mr. Jae Joon Yoo of South Korea – Honorary President of the Boxing Association of South Korea, received 14 votes in the second round of the ASBC Vice-President elections at the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok

1st ASBC EC member – Ms. Shelly Selowati H. Soejono of Indonesia – AIBA Executive Committee member, elected in the AIBA Moscow Congress
2nd ASBC EC member – Mr. Syed Abdul Kadir of Singapore – President of the Singapore Boxing Association, elected in the first round of the Executive Committee voting at the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok
3rd ASBC EC member – Mr. Jaber Muhsen of Kuwait – General Secretary of the Kuwait Boxing Federation, elected in the second round of the Executive Committee voting at the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok
4th ASBC EC member – Mr. Sisouphanh Sengsavanh of Laos – President of the Lao Boxing Federation, elected in the third round of the Executive Committee voting at the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok
5th ASBC EC member – Mr. Iraq’s Ali Takleef Shaheed of Iraq – President of the Iraqi Boxing Federation, elected in the fourth round of the Executive Committee voting at the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok
6th ASBC EC member – Mr. Edgar Picson of Philippines – Executive Director of the Association of the Boxing Alliances of the Philippines, elected in the fifth round of the Executive Committee voting at the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok
7th ASBC EC member – Mr. Jay Kowli of India – Secretary General of Boxing Federation of India, elected in the sixth round of the Executive Committee voting at the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok
8th ASBC EC member – Mr. Dian Gomes of Sri Lanka – President of the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka, elected in the seventh round of the Executive Committee voting at the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok
9th ASBC EC member – Mr. Zhusupbek Korgonbai Uulu of Kyrgyzstan – Vice-President of the National Boxing Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, elected in the eighth round of the Executive Committee voting at the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok
10th ASBC EC member – Mr. Saken Polatov of Uzbekistan – Vice-President of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation, elected in the ninth round of the Executive Committee voting at the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok
