Turkmenistan Boxing Federation is hosting a training camp with their top 23 boxers including several teenage talents

Turkmenistan Boxing Federation arranged a training camp to their best elite male boxers to keep them fit and in strong conditions. The training camp is holding in Ashgabat in the capital city of the country and top 23 boxers have been invited to attend in the preparations including ASBC Asian Boxing Championships bronze medallist Nuryagdy Nuryagdyyev.

Three experienced coaches such as Mr. Aliasker Bashirov, Mr. Yazmuhammet Pazzyyev and Mr. Annamyrat Sahedov are the three coaches who work with the national team in the training camp. The head coach of the national team Mr. Aliasker Bashirov arranged the strict schedule of the preparation and their target is the World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event which will be held in Paris on May 2021.

Mr. Aliasker Bashirov is a two-time Olympian who won several times the Turkmenistan National Championships between 1997 and 2010 and also attended Asian Boxing Championships in that period. Mr. Annamyrat Sahedov was also a successful boxer in the 1980s and in the 1990s and also represented the independent Turkmenistan in Asian events.

The biggest name in the training camp is 22-year-old Nuryagdy Nuryagdyyev who claimed silver medal at the Pavlodar 2016 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships and bronze at the Tashkent 2017 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships. He is Turkmenistan’s best light heavyweight (81kg) boxer and he is aiming for an Olympic quota through the World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event.

Sanjarbek Sapayev represented Turkmenistan in various youth and elite international events between 2010 and 2015 and the experienced boxer decided to return to the sport. The 27-year-old welterweight (69kg) boxer trains with full speed to regain his place in the top national team after a few years of break. ASBC Asian Boxing Championships competitor Bakhtiyar Masharipov is another returning boxer to the national squad who represented Turkmenistan in the international stage between 2012 and 2016.

A 22-year-old boxer, Serdar Amangeldiyev competed at the Tashkent 2017 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and at the Yekaterinburg 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships and he is also enough experienced after the hard preparations. National Champions as Baky Toychyyev, Shokhrat Jumayev, Jabbar Meyleyev and Seyitjan Babajanov are also in the training camp after their international appearances in the recent years.

ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships silver medallist Saparmyrat Odayev, AIBA World Boxing Championships competitor Yhlas Gylychjanov and multiple Junior and Youth National Champion Arslan Shamyradov are their best boxers in the 2000 born age group and all of them developed rapidly in the recent years. Shukur Ovezov and Yunus Shamsiyev are their best boxers in the 2001 born age group who both attended in the Ulaanbaatar 2019 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships. Turkmenistan’s top three youth boxers also have been invited to the camp as Azat Jumayev, Rahmetjan Japparov and Bayramdurdy Nurmuhammedov.
