Sila Bibolsynkyzy achieved a silver medal at the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships but she had not an ideal opponent in the Round of 16 at the light flyweight (48kg), Russia’s Sofia Maksiuta. The Kazakh girl had intense preparation after the Asian event and her stamina was enough to eliminate Maksiuta in one of the top fights of the day.

Kazakhstan’s Gaukhar Zarden was not able to participate in Astana one month ago but she received the chance to participate in Yerevan. She faced first Estonia’s Ksenija Vesselova at the flyweight (50kg) but after the tactical first round, she found the best tempo to eliminate the Baltic rival in Yerevan.

The South Korean junior boys had two excellent victories in the second day of boxing and following Kim Tae Hyun’s loss in the women’s flyweight (50kg), their Kim Ji Ae earned a success for them. Kim Ji Ae was able to increase her rhythm round by round and she eliminated Georgia’s Tekla Arbolishvili at the women’s bantamweight (54kg).

Amisha Kerketta is a new face in the Indian junior national team but she proved her very best against Mexico’s Devany Ramirez in their bantamweight (54kg) meeting. The Mexican boxed for the very first time out of her country but she had the experience in the national level therefore she was competitive from the opening minutes.

India’s Vini won the title of the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Amman on March 2022 before her 15th birthday but she was not able to defend her throne in Astana. The Indian prepared hard in the previous four weeks and she tried to exceed her level against Ayazhan Yermek of Kazakhstan. Vini had to switch for a higher tempo in the second round and her punctual shots in the third decided their tight contest today.
