The veteran Pram Chaudhary won the title at the Nepal Chief of Army Staff Competition

Nepal’s military event, the Chief of Army Staff Competition finished with its women’s and men’s finals in the city of Pokhara.
Pokhara is a city on Phewa Lake and it is known as the gateway to the famous Annapurna Circuit which is the trail for the Himalayas.
Nepal has strong traditions hosting military competitions and most of their national team members are also serves in the Army, Police or the Air Force.
The Technical Delegate of the Nepal Chief of Army Staff Competition was Mr. Puskar Raj Pant, one of the International Boxing Officials who worked in the recent ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships as well.
An ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships competitor, Aarati Bomjan is one of the top female national team members in Nepal and as it expected she dominated the women’s minimumweight (48kg) final against Urmila Thapa Magar.
Barsha Shrestha also has a strong experience in the international stage of boxing and she not only built up strong advantage on the scorecards but she stopped Krishna Budha in the third round of their women’s bantamweight (54kg) final.
The ASBC Asian Boxing Championships competitor Bimala Shrestha is another national team member who spent a short time in the ring due her featherweight (57kg) final opponent, Bed Kumari Rai abandoned the bout in the first round.
Chandrakala Thapa had a much harder way to the final glory but she managed to overcame Susmita Rai in the attacks to take the title of the lightweight (60kg) while the veteran ASBC Asian Boxing Championships participant Punam Rawal stopped Sabina Pariyar at the women’s welterweight (66kg).
Ganesh Bhandari won the difficult men’s minimumweight (48kg) final over Suwas Tamang before Bal Bahadur Khadka proved his strength against Surendra Bahadur Rai at the flyweight (51kg) final in Pokhara.
The Asian Games participant Prem Chaudhary is one of the veteran male boxers in Nepal with plenty of international experience and he was still enough speedy to keep the control at the bantamweight (54kg) against a private in the Army, Prabin Bayalkoti.
