The Uzbek Tigers defeated Astana Arlans Kazakhstan in the Week 9 of the World Series of Boxing in Tashkent

The Season VII in the World Series of Boxing continued with four superb matches over the weekend and our three Asian teams have also attended on Week 9. The Uzbek Tigers defeated the leader of the Asian group Astana Arlans Kazakhstan 4-1 in Tashkent while China Dragons lost to the Russia’s Patriot Boxing Team in Kazan.

Two-time WSB Team Champion Astana Arlans Kazakhstan won all of their four WSB matches in the difficult Asian Group and had to meet with the Uzbek Tigers this weekend in Tashkent. The Uzbeks won the first three matches and only Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s Anton Pinchuk was able to beat his rival while Olympic Champion Hasanboy Dusmatov was the last one in action in the evening therefore the Uzbek Tigers won the encounter 4-1.
Uzbekistan’s Rio 2016 Olympic Champion Hasanboy Dusmatov returned to the boxing world four weeks ago and after his strong preparation he dominated his 12th WSB bout against Russia’s Baku 2015 European Games winner Bator Sagaluev. The Uzbek star continued his winning path against Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s ASBC Asian Champion Temirtas Zhussupov and Dusmatov won their re-match with his speed.
Uzbekistan’s new bantamweight (56kg) hero Abdulkhay Sharakhmatov also continued his amazing winning path in the WSB where his record is now 6-0 after his contest against Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s Incheon 2014 Asian Games winner Ilyas Suleimenov. Uzbekistan’s Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Elnur Abduraimov returned after his injuries but his stamina was enough to beat Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s newcomer in Season VII, Dilmurat Mizhitov.
Uzbekistan’s middleweight (75kg) No.1 Incheon 2014 Asian Games silver medallist Israil Madrimov won all of his contests in 2016 and he amazed the local crowd with his strong performance against Saparbay Aidarov which was his second WSB success in Season VII. Uzbekistan’s fifth boxer in action was Zukhriddin Makhkamov who was not able to keep the best fighting distance against Incheon 2014 Asian Games winner Anton Pinchuk therefore the Kazakh boxer was able to continue his unbeaten series in the WSB.

Patriot Boxing Team vs. China Dragons 5-0
China Dragons was the third Asian franchise in action on Week 9 but their boxers lost all of their contests against Russia’s Patriot Boxing Team in the Martial Arts Palace in Kazan. The Chinese franchise had a lucky triumph over their Uzbek rivals in the first week of Season VII and after their fourth loss the team is No.4 in the Asian Group now.
Among their boxers He Junjun did nice things in the ring against his Russian rival at the light flyweight (49kg) but he was not able to keep the same standard in the five rounds. Meng Caicheng, who defeated a strong Ukrainian boxer in Season VI of the World Series of Boxing, was near to beat his Russian rival, Aleksey Mazur and lost only by split decision in their light welterweight (64kg) contest in Kazan. Guo Jin, who is China’s new heavyweight (91kg) talent, exceeded the expectations and fought bravely against Russia’s Rio 2016 Olympic Champion and AIBA World Champion Evgeny Tishchenko.
