The upcoming Thailand National Championships will be held for their top elite and youth boxers in December 4-9

The Thailand National Championships for their elite women, elite men, youth female and youth male boxers will take place in Muak Lek in December 4-9. All of their top boxers are planning to attend in the upcoming National Championships which will be also selection event before the main events in 2022.

Thailand’s top youth boxers competed this year at the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Kielce where they earned two medals and some of their new sensations proved their future potentials. Their elite boxers competed only in a few international events in 2021 but they succeeded in Tokyo and in Belgrade.

Thailand achieved one bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games, their Sudaporn Seesondee won that at the women’s lightweight (60kg) while Chatchai Decha Butdee and Jitamas Jitpong also reached the quarter-finals in Japan’s capital. Seesondee’s medal was Thailand’s first since the boxing tournament of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Thailand reached its best performance at the Belgrade 2021 AIBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships since the 2007 edition. Their Wuttichai Yurachai earned silver medal in the Serbian capital while 19-year-old Thanarat Saengphet and Weerapon Jongjoho bagged bronze medals taking their career highlights.

Eleven champions have been crowned in the last 2020 edition of the Thailand National Elite Boxing Championships in the Muak Lek District. The seven-day long competition saw fantastic finals between the stars and the next generation members. Five of the winners were younger than 20 while three of their Tokyo Olympians won the titles in Muak Lek.

Thailand returned to the trainings and to their national sport center short after the quarantine period and their top boxers were in top shape not only in the national event but in the international stage as well. Altogether 213 female and male bouts contested in the 2020 edition of the Thailand Elite National Boxing Championships in Muak Lek.
