The Umakhanov Memorial Tournament hosts an educational program
The Umakhanov Memorial Tournament is a traditional event in Dagestan, Russia and also an important education program, a Referee & Judge Course took place during the competition period.
Russia hosts dozens of boxing events every year and their Umakhanov Memorial Tournament is the main elite international competition in the region of Dagestan which has busy boxing lives and many of the stars were born in that area.
Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Guinea-Bissau, IBA-India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Luxembourg, Mongolia, Morocco, Russia, Seychelles, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Venezuela were the registered nations in the Umakhanov Memorial Tournament.
The five-day long competition saw altogether 95 bouts at the Umakhanov Memorial Tournament and many of the contests were world-class level in Dagestan. Top boxers from Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Belarus delivered the best results and performances in the competition.
Mr. Berykbol Kassymkhanov of Kazakhstan and Mr. Anatoli Kaigorodov of Moldova were the Instructors of the Referee & Judge Course in Dagestan.
The theoretical part of the Course led by the experienced Mr. Berikbol Kassymkhanov, who worked as a Referee & Judge Instructor in the recent ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships as well.
The eight sessions of the Umakhanov Memorial Tournament was not only the practical part of the Referee & Judge Course but several situations were introduced between the sessions to arrange the highest level of educations.
Referees & Judges from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan participated in the Course.
The Referee & Judge Course supported many of the officials to understand the new rules, and practice their skills in an international tournament.
