The Ulaanbaatar Box Cup is the highlight of the week in Asia

The Ulaanbaatar Box Cup will be the highlight of the week in the Asian boxing map which will be starting in the Mongolian capital from tomorrow. Among the top Asian countries India, China, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines, Chinese Taipei, DPR Korea, Indonesia and host Mongolia all will be there in the start of the competition.
The competition will be held in the currently three Olympic women’s weight classes at the flyweight (51kg), lightweight (60kg) and middleweight (75kg). Furthermore the men boxers will be able to box in seven weight categories from the light flyweight (49kg) up to the middleweight (75kg).
A possible top bout at the light flyweight (49kg) between Philippines’ AIBA World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Rogen Ladon and India’s Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympian strong promising hope Shyam Kumar Kakara could be the highlight of the Ulaanbaatar Box Cup and Mongolia’s ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships silver medallist Gan-Erdene Gankhuyag will be also there in this category.
Kyrgyzstan’s 2013 ASBC Asian Champion Azat Usenaliev, Philippines’ ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships silver medallist Felix Eumir Marcial and the best Mongolians could be shining in the men’s part of the competition this week. Chinese’s Taipei’s AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Chen Nien Chin will be the favourite of the women’s middleweight (75kg) in the event.
The boxers who will be reaching the semi-finals will be getting not only medals but money prizes as well in the Ulaanbaatar Box Cup this week. The Ulaanbaatar Box Cup is the new name of the previous Chinggis Khan Cup which was held last time in October 2016. During the Ulaanbaatar Box Cup a 2-star AIBA Refereeing & Judging Course is also scheduled and the seminars began today in the Mongolian capital.
