The Turkmenistan Schoolboys National Championships started with the participation of 203 boxers

The Turkmenistan Boxing Federation’s next event, the Turkmenistan Schoolboys National Championships started with 66 bouts in the city of Mary where altogether 203 young talents are competing for the 15 titles.
Mary was founded from the ruins of the ancient abandoned city Merv in 1884 and it is located in the Karakum Desert in Turkmenistan. The oasis city of Mary is the capital of the Mary region and it is off the coast of the Murgab river.
The boxers from 2011 and the 2012 age groups are eligible to participate in the Turkmenistan Schoolboys National Championships.
The 43kg weight class is the most popular in the Schoolboys National Championships with the participation of 23 boxers. There are 20 boxers in the 52kg weight category and record-breaking 17 pugilists at the +70kg division.
Boxers from all regions and cities of Turkmenistan such as Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary are participating in the Schoolboys National Championships in the city of Mary.
The boxers at the 33kg are always strong in Turkmenistan in this age group and four youngsters as S. Ruziyev of Lebap region, A. Berdiyev of Dashoguz, U. Metjumayev of Lebap and Mr. Akmyradov of Mary advanced to next phase of the championships.
The 35kg and 37kg weight categories are also busy in the Turkmenistan Schoolboys National Championships with the participation of 16 and 11 boxers. S. Koptyev, Y. Akmammedov, D. Hojyyev, A. Amanov and the main favourite, Dashoguz region’s Arslan Rejepov were the first winners at the 37kg.
Ashgabat’s Muhammetaly Serdarov has already international experience and the 40kg boxer joined to the quarter-finals in the national event after beating M. Gaipov of Dashoguz in a hectic bout which finished with the score of 3:2 in the favour of Serdarov.
Ahal region’s B. Atayev was too strong for Ashgabat’s R. Allayarov in the 52kg weight class but further hopes such as A. Masharipov of Dashoguz, S. Annaberdiyev of Ashgabat and P. Hangeldiyev of Balkan region also won their meetings in the session.
