The Technical Meeting of the first edition of the ASBC Asian Grand Slam Championships confirmed the participation of 11 nations

The first edition of the ASBC Asian Grand Slam Boxing Championships will be starting with its first competition day soon in Xiamen which is located in the Fujian Province of the People’s Republic of China. The Technical Meeting of the new event was held in Xiamen and it is confirmed that 27 selected top boxers will be competing in China from eleven different countries from all regions of Asia.

President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Anas Alotaiba of United Arab Emirates arrived to the venue of the ASBC Asian Grand Slam Championships to Xiamen on Wednesday and led the Technical Meeting of the event together with the Technical Delegate of the historical event, Mr. Ray Silvas of the United States. The Vice-President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Wu Di of China also welcomed all guests and participating teams in the Technical Meeting.

The following 11 nations will be attending in the ASBC Asian Grand Slam Boxing Championships in Xiamen: Australia, India, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Tajikistan, Chinese Taipei, and United Arab Emirates.

One of the biggest names of the whole event will be Chinese Taipei’s Huang Hsiao Wen who claimed gold medal in the last edition of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Ulan-Ude. Mongolia’s Asian Games silver medallist Baatarsukh Chinzorig could be one of the main stars of the men’s part of the Grand Slam.

Altogether 13 champions will be crowned in the event in 5 women weight classes and 8 men divisions which are the official Olympic categories for Tokyo. The first edition of the ASBC Asian Grand Slam Championships is a money prize event, all of the medallists will be getting payments during the competition in the city of Xiamen.
