The Technical Meeting of the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships confirmed the participation of 23 nations in Colombo

The ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships started with its Technical Meeting and Official Draw in Colombo, Sri Lanka today.
The Technical Meeting featured at the Ivy meeting room in the Grand Cinnamon Hotel’s ground floor and the event was live streamed in the ASBC YouTube channel.
ASBC President Mr. Aziz Kozhambetov opened the Technical Meeting in Colombo and he underlined the importance of the competition. He is grateful for Sri Lankan Boxing to arrange a big event in Colombo despite the hard circumstances which affects the Asian continent.
The President of Sri Lankan Boxing Dr. Anuruddha Shanaka Bandara mentioned the great opportunity for the country’s boxing life in his speech. This will be Sri Lanka’s biggest boxing event since 1967 when the country hosted the Asian Championships.
Mr. Aleksandr Egorov represented the IBA in the Technical Meeting while the new Secretary General of Sri Lankan Boxing, Mr. Tharanga Perera also welcomed all of the delegations and participants in Colombo.
Australia, French Polynesia and New Zealand are additional members of this ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships to support the boxers. The total number of female and male boxers is 232 in this event.
Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, French Polynesia, IBA-India, Indonesia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Vietnam are the 23 participating nations in this championship.
The Technical Delegate of the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships, Mr. Walid Jarrar led the meeting and introduced all competition related matters, the participation status, the weight classes, competition schedule, the official draw, the uniforms, and medal ceremonies procedures.
