The Technical Meeting of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships was held in the Tashkent Hilton Hotel

The Technical Meeting of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships was held in the Hilton Hotel in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Friday afternoon. The Technical Delegate of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships, Mr. Viorel Sima of Romania led the Technical Meeting of the first major competition of the year.

The Competition Director of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships Mr. Shohid Tillaboev welcomed all of the participants. The Sport Director of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Omar Saleh Al-Jaberi has done his short speech on behalf of the ASBC President, Mr. Anas Alotaiba.

The roll call started the main part of the Technical Meeting in Tashkent where Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan are the participating countries. Twenty-two nations registered to attend in the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships but due to the new governmental restrictions and positive Covid-19 tests, 12 could arrive to Tashkent.

Altogether 109 female and male boxers arrived to the venue of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships. The women boxers can attend in 12 weight categories: 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 81kg and +81kg. The U22 men boxers can compete in the new official 13 weight classes: 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 86kg, 92kg and +92kg.

Mr. Viorel Sima introduced the competition schedule, key technical and competition rules, the IBA certifications, the medical and Covid procedures, the bout review, the IBA Disciplinary Code and all other competition related information.

The venue of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships is ready, all of the preparations have been arranged by the local organizers leading by Mr. Shohid Tillaboev and the Technical Delegate Mr. Viorel Sima of Romania. The Uzbekistan Universal Sports Complex will be waiting for the grand opening ceremony and its first bouts in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
