The Tajikistan Youth National Championships started with 29 preliminary contests in Dushanbe

The Tajikistan Youth National Championships started in their capital city in Dushanbe where the event opened with 29 preliminary contest. All of the regions and cities sent their best youth boxers to the Tajikistan Youth National Championships where their stars in this age group had to compete already in the first competition day.

Tajikistan Boxing Federation send boxers to all of the important international competitions in 2021. Their boxers claimed four bronze medals including two among the women boxers in the Dubai 2021 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships this May. Tajikistan also impressed at the 2021 ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships where their youth talents earned six bronze medals.

The Tajikistan Youth National Championships holds for their boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004. The best boxers from this age group competed at the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and at the Dubai 2021 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships.

Tajikistan has got impressive talents in this age group such as Meroj Zoidov, Elite National Spartakyad winner Akbarali Abdurakhmonzoda, Iskandarbek Rustamov, ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships silver medallist Abubakr Murodov and ASBC Asian Junior Champion Abdurakhim Yokubov.

Among them the strong Zoidov, the virtuoso Murodov and Yokubov will be competing also in the youth age group still in 2022 and could be their best weapons at the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships and AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships which both planned for next year.

Women’s boxing has got important role in Tajikistan’s boxing life, their girls are even better years by years and competed in all levels of events and championships. Record number of women boxers attended in the last 2020 edition of the Tajikistan Youth National Championships and the interest is also high in the running event. Sughd region’s Rukhovar Maynusov is also a very talented boxer who moved up to the new light bantamweight (52kg) and opened his campaign against Valijon Karimov. Iskandarbek Rustamov did not have an ideal first opponent as he had to meet with experienced Bakhridin Nazaromonov in the bantamweight (54kg). Khatlon’s No.1 Abubakr Murodov began his road to get his next national title against Adkham Usmonov at the featherweight (57kg).
