The Syrian boxing team will be competing in Iran

The Syrian boxing team will be traveling to Abadan soon where the country’s best boxers will compete in the Fajr Tournament in Iran. The Syrian delegation will contain six-strong team and their boxers are enough qualified to get gold medals as well in the upcoming prestigious international competition.

Their delegation in the Iranian competition will contain the following boxers: experienced Hussin Al-Masri (49 kg), newcomer Mohamed Khair Mistt (64 kg), ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships bronze medallist Ahmad Ghossoun (69 kg), two-time AIBA World Boxing Championships competitor Alaaldin Ghossoun (81 kg), Manaf Asaad (91 kg) who moved back to his original weight class and ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships bronze medallist Mohamed Moulayes (+91 kg).

Syria has got serious problems since 2011 when the Civil War began but their boxing life is active and their boxers have been competing in the important international competitions. Syria have been there in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Pavlodar and also in two Olympic Qualification Events. Their youth team contained three boxers who travelled more than 4,000 km to compete in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Pavlodar.

Mr. Issa Al-Nassar, the President of the Syrian Boxing Federation, informed the media and the stakeholders their National Elite Boxing Championships will be held in November.
