The registrations for the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships are still open

The registrations are still open for the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships and the management of the Asian Boxing Confederation is expecting record number of entries in Astana.

The new edition of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan between October 21 and November 4. The original event was planning to be hosted in July 14-30 and but due to the ASBC Extraordinary Congress, it has moved to the second part of October.

The team delegation handbook has been issued a few weeks ago and all of the Asian National Federations are able to register their teams in the IBA Database. The boxers who were born in 2005 and in 2006 are eligible to participate in the youth part of the championships. The younger generation members from the 2007 and the 2008 age groups will be able to fight for the junior titles in Astana.

The Kazakhstan Boxing Federation hosted its last ASBC Championships for the youth boxers in Pavlodar in 2016 and after seven years of break, a top Asian event returns to the country. The city of Astana hosted the 2011 Cadet World Boxing Championships, the 2012 Asian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event, several rounds in the previous World Series of Boxing and the 2016 Women’s World Boxing Championships.

The venue of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships will be the National Tennis Center “Beeline Arena” which is located in the city center of Astana at the Turan Avenue. The deadline for the registrations to the championships is September 23.

The event will support the preparations for the Junior World Boxing Championships which will be held in Yerevan, Armenia between November 21 and December 5.

The weight categories of the championships

Junior Women: 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg weight categories

Junior Men: 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg weight categories

Youth Women: 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 81kg and +81kg weight categories

Youth Men: 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 86kg, 92kg and +92kg weight categories
