The participating teams are in the final preparation for the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships.
The countdown is in the final stage, only 4 days to go until the start of the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships in Sri Lanka’s busy capital city.
The final trailer of the championships have revealed today and the President of the Sri Lankan Boxing Dr. Anuruddha Shanaka Bandara will arrange a memorable competition for all of the delegations and guests in Colombo.
The teams have issued their preparation videos and all of the countries are ready to earn medals in the championships.
Several of the developing and promising Asian National Federations including Cambodia, Bangladesh, Yemen, Syria, Palestine, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Indonesia and Iraq have confirmed their participation in the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships.
The host Sri Lankans will compete with record number of 33 boxers in the championships and their team is planning to make a strong impact in the competition. Their historic bronze medallist from the recent ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships, Umayanga Mihiran could be their flag bearer in this upcoming event.
The event period of the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships in the city of Colombo, Sri Lanka is between May 10 and 24. The Sport Entries Checks, the Technical Meeting and the Official Draw will take place in the Cinnamon Red Hotel in Colombo on May 11.
The first competition day of the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships will take place in Colombo on May 12 while the finals are scheduled to be held in two last sessions on May 22 and 23.
The President of the International Boxing Association, Mr. Umar Kremlev will support the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships with prize money in the amount of 100 000 USD.
The competition venue will be the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo which has all facilities to make the event into a memorable one in the history of the events.
The boxers who were born in 2003, 2004, 2005 and in 2006 will be eligible to participate in the U22 age group in Colombo.
The boxers who are members of the 2007 and 2008 age groups will have the right to compete in the youth part of the busy championships.
