The National Referee and Judge Seminar was held successfully in Nepal
The Nepal Boxing is very active in the boxing map and the country has several grassroots programs, development project and regional events. As their next activity, Nepal arranged their 2nd National Referee & Judge Seminar and the Koshi Province Boxing Championships successfully in the recent days.
The Jhapa District Sports Committee organized the 3rd edition of the Koshi Province Boxing Championships and the Referee & Judge Seminar in Arjundhara, Jhapa. The boxing competition featured 56 young boxers from 11 districts of the Koshi Province.
The event took place in the famous Sanishware Bazar, one of the historical sites located in the Jhapa District of Koshi Province, and was attended by around 1,000 people in this venue to follow the development of the youngsters.
The event was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister of Water Supply, Mr. Ek Raj Karki, along with Mr. Baldev Singh Gomden Tamang, Mayor of Arjundhara Municipality; Mr. Prashant Bhandari, President of the Jhapa District Sports Committee; and Mr. Yubraj Khadka, President of the Jhapa District Boxing Association.
Jhapa’s Sachin Limbu and Dharan’s Ladikma Rai were awarded Best Male and Best Female Boxers of the Province Championships. Sunsari District lifted the championship trophy with 6 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal while the Jhapa District was the first runner-up with 3 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals.
Nepal’s first ITO, and Secretary of Nepal Boxing Federation, Mr. Puskar Raj Pant, served as the Technical Delegate of the event. He also conducted the National Referee & Judge training for 27 former pugilists of Nepal to develop their skills based on the international standards. Mr. Puskar Raj Pant inspired 1,200 school students of Sanishware Secondary School by promoting school boxing and a healthy lifestyle during the competition.
After successfully passed first Nepal Course, this is the second National Referee & Judge Seminars in Nepal. The first edition of the Nepal National Referee & Judge Seminar was held in Satdobato Sports Complex on March 2023.
