The magnificent Asian seven earned gold medals in Budva

Seven Asians have been crowded in the first part of the finals at the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva, Montenegro. Kazakhstan earned three, China and Uzbekistan two titles in the tenth competition day of the championships.

Afghanistan, China, DPR Korea, Hong Kong, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Palestine, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are the participating 13 Asian nations in the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships.

Altogether 73 nations and 593 boxers are participating in the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva which makes the event the biggest competition of the globe this year.

Following Jasmin Tokhirova’s tight loss in the women’s minimumweight (48kg) final over her 17-year-old Mexican rival, their Sayfiddin Sabirov proved his best performance against Azerbaijan’s Bilalkhabasi Nazarov. The Uzbek, who was a quarter-finalist in Astana, was in shape in Budva and he defeated all of his rivals including the Azeri boy in the final of the men’s minimumweight (48kg).

China’s Chen Yanfen advanced to the final of the women’s flyweight (52kg) but she was unable to beat Russia’s Snezhana Kuznetsova today. Zhang Hanrui was China’s lone male finalist in Budva but he was not able to keep Russia’s Viacheslav Rogozin on long today. The Chinese boxer will be turning 18 only end of December and he reached his career highlight with this silver medal at the men’s bantamweight (54kg).

China’s third finalist, Wang Miqi used her height advantage against Turkey’s Pinar Benek in all of the rounds to keep her opponent away from her gloves. The 18-year-old Chinese is a Student at the Hubei Sports Vocational College and after her technician style of boxing today she is now a Youth World Champion. Wang impressed only in China before this Youth World Boxing Championships but her international debut was an amazing title in Budva.

DPR Korea’s two-time Youth National Champion Pak Sin A has less than 20 bouts during her five-years long career but she has excellent technical skills. Her final opponent, Ireland’s Siofra Lawless was taller and more experienced than Pak but the DPR Korean earned a fantastic silver medal in her first international appearance.

Kazakhstan’s No.1, the four-time Asian Champion Torekhan Sabyrkhan defeated his Cuban opponent, David Manuel Espinosa in Montenegro earlier this year and he wanted to repeat that performance in the welterweight (67kg) final. The 18-year-old Kazakh had another brilliant technician style opponent therefore their title bout was a good promotion of boxing in Budva. Three judges favoured Sabyrkhan after the first round therefore the Kazakh had to increase her speed to win this amazing final bout.

China’s Abudureyimu Alimire is not only the defending ASBC Asian Youth Champion at the women’s light middleweight (70kg) but she is the biggest female talent in the entire country. The 17-year-old Xinjiang-based boxer landed her punches whenever she wanted against Turkey’s Yonca Gul Yilmaz therefore she bagged the second gold medal for China.

Kazakhstan’s Sanzhar-Ali Begaliyev and Uzbekistan’s Djafarbek Shakhbazov both were Asian Champions during their career but they boxed for their first world title today. The 18-year-old Kazakh began the first round better and the Serbian referee counted Shakhbazov after a heavy punch. Begaliyev won this middleweight (75kg) final bout easier than he expected and after Sabyrkhan, he is Kazakhstan’s second gold medallist.

Kazakhstan’s Aruzhan Zeinollayeva and Uzbekistan’s Rukhshona Parpiyeva knew each other very well from junior and youth competitions. The 17-year-old Kazakh worked from longer range in this light heavyweight (81kg) final effectively and she won this final by unanimous decision in Budva.

Uzbekistan’s Akmaljon Isroilov is the most experienced in their youth national team who began boxing at the age of 8 in 2014. The Uzbek received punches from his Russian opponent, Kamil Dzhamayev in the first round but he stepped into the gas in time and he won his nation’s second title in Budva.
