The Kyrgyzstan Schoolboys National Championships will be held in June 26-30

The Kyrgyz Boxing Federation’s next competition, the Schoolboys & Schoolgirls National Championships will be held in June 26-30. The competition venue is the Challenger Boxing Club’s sport hall in Bishkek where more than 200 boxers are expected to take part in the Kyrgyzstan Schoolboys & Schoolgirls National Championships.

Young boxers who were born in 2007 and in 2008 are eligible to attend in the Kyrgyzstan Schoolboys & Schoolgirls National Championships. This will be the first ever edition for their schoolgirls in order to develop women’s boxing in Kyrgyzstan and build up a new generation. Female wrestling is seriously strong in the country and Kyrgyzstan Boxing Federation is planning to follow those footsteps.

The national event will be their selection for the 2021 ASBC Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships which is scheduled to host in Bahrain this September. The winners of the national event will have the chance to be selected to the ASBC Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships.

The following weight categories will be official divisions in the national event: 33kg, 35kg, 37kg, 40kg, 43kg, 46kg, 49kg, 52kg, 55kg, 58kg, 61kg, 64kg, 67kg, 70kg and +70kg. There are 14 official ASBC schoolboy weight categories and Kyrgyzstan Boxing Federation added one extra, the smallest 33kg division.

The city of Bishkek, the city of Osh, Chui region, Naryn region, Issyk-Kul region, Talas region, Dzhalal-Abad region, Osh region and the Batken region are all will be attending in the Kyrgyzstan Schoolboys & Schoolgirls National Championships.

The General Secretary of the Kyrgyz Boxing Federation Mr. Bedaly Alymkulov and the head coach of the schoolboy national team Mr. Kenzhebek Musakunov will be following all of the contests and support the success of the competition.

Their first schoolboy event, the Adylkan Bekbolotov Memorial Tournament was held just before the Schoolboys National Championships to remember their former boxer and national head coach who died in 2020.
