The Indian delegation arrived to the venue of the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships

The Indian delegation arrived to the venue of the AIBA World Boxing Championships to Hamburg, Germany with the leading of their Swedish head coach, Mr. Santiago Nieva. The eight-strong team has got the potential to win at least one medal in the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships.
Mr. Kishen Narsi of India was the Supervisor of the 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan where India achieved several medals and quota places for the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships which will be taking place in August 25 – September 3.
India sent maximum number of 10 elite boxers to the Uzbek capital where their Rio 2016 Olympians such as former ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Champion Shiva Thapa, 2010 Commonwealth Games winner Manoj Kumar and Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games winner Vikas Krishan Yadav all have qualified for the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships with tough performances.
Besides to them National Champion Amit Panghal proved enough strong performance at the light flyweight (49kg) and claimed bronze medal in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The 22-year-old talent was in top shape in the preparation events for Hamburg and could be India’s secret weapon in Hamburg.
Sumit Sangwan claimed silver medal in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Tashkent at the heavyweight (91kg) and after a few poor years the Indian boxer found the way back to the podiums. Sangwan, who joined to the international competitions already in 2009, is only still 24 but has got plenty of contests against the best boxers of the world.
Almaty edition’s quarter-finalist Satish Kumar is India’s super heavyweight (+91kg) No.1 who also qualified for the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Tashkent. Kavinder Singh Bisht won the Indian National Championships at the very first time in 2016 and his efforts were also enough to qualify for Hamburg. Gaurav Bidhuri was only a reserve boxer for the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships but after an injury he received the right to box in Germany.
