The Grand Opening Ceremony of the Belt & Road International Youth Boxing Festival was an Olympic-level show
The Grand Opening Ceremony of the 2nd Belt & Road International Youth Boxing Festival featured in Urumqi, Xinjiang province today which was one of the highlights of the competition, the seminar and the training camp.
The Chinese Boxing Federation, the Xinjiang Boxing Federation and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Municipal Government are the organizers of the Festival, and all of their top officials, Presidents, Secretary Generals and Directors were present in the Grand Opening Ceremony of China’s new international gala.
China hosted the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and the Asian Games twice in the previous 15 years, firstly in Guangzhou in 2010, secondly in Hangzhou in 2023. The Chinese organizers made the opening ceremonies of these Games as exemplars to amaze the crowd and the officials of the Belt & Road Youth Boxing Festival.
The Grand Opening Ceremony started with a local music show and continued with local dancers and further exciting attractions.
The flag parade was also a unique event of the ceremony with huge flags in the background and the introduction of their boxers. Three delegation members from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Chinese Taipei, Tajikistan, Thailand, and Uzbekistan were part of the Opening Ceremony.
China’s three new Olympic Champions from the Paris edition such as Wu Yu, Chang Yuan and Li Qian all attended in the ceremony in Urumqi and the female boxing stars of the strong nation received awards from the organizers.
Bai Chongguang, the first Chinese Asian Games winner from the 1990 Beijing edition, furthermore Gu Hong and Xinjiang’s boxing pride, the World Championships silver medallist and Asian Games gold medallist Tuohetaerbieke Tanglatihan also participated in the show.
The youngest boxers of the Xinjiang province were also involved to the Opening Ceremony and the small girls and boys also enjoyed the introduction of their technical skills.
The Grand Opening Ceremony lasted one and half hour in Urumqi and amazed all of the participants with its show and high performance actors, singers.
