The dream finals of the bantamweight and featherweight are realized in the Uzbekistan Junior National Championships
The semi-finals are the most exciting parts of an event and these bouts were held at the sixth competition day at the Uzbekistan Junior National Championships in Tashkent where the winners remained their chances alive to win the whole event. The dream finals between world class junior boxers and ASBC medallists are realized at the bantamweight (54kg) and also at the featherweight (57kg) in Tashkent.
Following the Zolotarev Memorial Tournament, the next highlight in the country’s boxing life is the Uzbekistan Junior National Championships. The number of the entered boxers is 338 in Tashkent where the most popular categories are the light bantamweight (52kg), the featherweight (57kg) and the lightweight (60kg).
Boxers who were born in 2004 and in 2005 are eligible to attend in the upcoming Uzbekistan Junior National Championships where 241 bouts are already done. The Universal Sport Complex is the venue of the new national event in Tashkent where all of the Uzbek regions and cities sent their best junior talents.
Besides to the official 13 junior weight classes in the international stage, two more categories have been added to the official schedule of the Uzbekistan Junior National Championships. These are the 42kg and the 44kg divisions which meant that 15 champions will be crowned on October 27 when the finals are scheduled.
Bukhara’s Mirali Mavlonov competes in the smallest weight category at the 42kg but he had already several regional and national experiences to advance to the final of the event after beating his teammate Doniyor Bekmurodov. The 15-year-old boxer will be meeting for the gold medal of the weight class with Dzhizak’s Laziz Narzikulov. Two new faces will be boxing for the title of the next 44kg weight class, Tashkent’s Sunnat Yokubov and Khorezm’s Ruzimboy Yovbosorov.
Ferghana’s ASBC Asian Schoolboys Champion Hojiakbar Mahmudov eliminated Andizhan’s Faryozbek Dosmatov in the semi-finals of the pinweight (46kg) but the dream final has not been realized in that category. Another ASBC Asian Schoolboys Champion Khumoyunmirzo Abdurasulov was not able to reach the final bout following his unexpected loss to Tashkent region’s Islomiddin Nukhriddinov.
Two boxers from Andizhan advanced to the final of the light bantamweight (52kg), firstly ASBC Asian Schoolboys Champion Umidillo Abdurasulov eliminated Ilkhom Fayziyev of Bukhara, secondly Mirkomil Saidokhunov bowed out Sardor Raimov. Two amazing stars will be meeting for the gold medal of the bantamweight (54kg), ASBC Asian Schoolboys Champion Dalerjon Bozorov and ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships bronze medallist one-year older Anvar Boltaboyev.
Another key final of the Uzbekistan Junior National Championships will be held at the featherweight (57kg) following ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships bronze medallist Jakhonmurod Imamaliyev and ASBC Asian Schoolboys Champion Lazizbek Tulkinov both won their impressive semi-finals. Tashkent region’s experienced Asliddin Boboyev and Asilbek Abdukarimov are the finalists at the lightweight (60kg).
Tashkent region’s Shavkat Boltayev caused a top sensation in the semi-finals of the national event when he defeated ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships silver medallist Bekzod Bekmurodov. The new sensation will be meeting for the gold medal of the welterweight (66kg) with Tashkent’s International Junior Tournament silver medallist Mukhammadsobir Aleuatdinov. Bukhara’s Mukhammad Fayzullayev also delivered a surprise in the semi-finals when he defeated the top favourite Khusanboy Rikhsiboyev therefore he can meet for the gold medal with Namangan’s Mirzajon Akhmedov.
