The Drawing Ceremony of the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships was held in Ho Chi Minh City

The Drawing Ceremony was held in the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships in the First Place Hotel after the General Weigh-in in Ho Chi Minh City. Altogether record number of 107 boxers from 20 countries will be competing for the medals in the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships.
Supervisor of the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships Mrs. Shelly Miranda led the Drawing Ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City where Cambodia, Laos, Singapore and Myanmar are the new countries in the history of the event. India, Kazakhstan and Vietnam are competing in the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships with maximum number of 10 boxers.
India’s national boxing icon five-time AIBA Women’s World Champion Chungneijang Mary Kom Hmangte will be meeting in the first preliminary round of the light flyweight (48kg) with Vietnam’s Trinh Thi Diem Kieu which will be a top contest in the last 16. The Indian boxer moved back to her original weight class this year to win her next Asian title.
China’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games silver medallist Yin Junhua moved down one category to the featherweight (57kg) and will be meeting with Philippines’ top female boxer AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships silver medallist Nesthy Petecio in the first preliminary round which could be one of the most anticipated bout in Ho Chi Minh City.
South Korea’s defending ASBC Asian Women’s Champion Oh Yeon Ji will be meeting in the first round of the lightweight (60kg) with Kazakhstan’s Rimma Volosenko who developed well in the recent one year. South Korea’s No.1 prepared well to the event and their contest could be another spectacular one in the opening days.
Kazakhstan’s defending AIBA Women’s World Champion Valentina Khalzova will be boxing in the first round of the welterweight (69kg) with Thailand’s AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Sudaporn Seesondee and can expect a hard contest against her Southeast Asian rival.
Kazakhstan’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games bronze medallist Dariga Shakimova will be facing with DPR Korea’s Incheon 2014 Asian Games winner Jang Un Hui in the first round of the Olympic middleweight (75kg). Another top bout in this category will be held between China’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games bronze medallist Li Qian and India’s AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships silver medallist Saweety Boora.
