The city of Oskemen arranged the record-breaking Youth National Championships in Kazakhstan

The city of Oskemen, of formerly known as Ust-Kamenogorsk, hosted the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships with great success.
Oskemen is the largest city in East Kazakhstan and the administrative center of East Kazakhstan region with the population of 400,000.
The boxers who were born in 2008 and in 2009 were eligible to participate in the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships in order to prepare for the next year’s main targets.
Record number of 407 boxers competed for the medals and prizes in the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships in Oskemen. The lightweight (60kg) saw the participation of 60 boxers but there were Round of 64 contests in seven weight categories in the Nationals.
Almaty region’s Islam Bolatbek is only 16-year-old but he had all of the skills to beat Almaty’s Edige Kartabay in the final of the minimumweight (48kg) in Oskemen.
Almaty’s second finalist, Adil Askanbay succeeded in the Youth Nationals, he outpointed a local boxer, the 16-year-old Abzal Altay in the next final.
As Islam Bolatbek, Temiral Temirbayev was also born in 2009, and he succeeded in the Youth Nationals delighting the home crowd in the competition. The 16-year-old talent was too smart for Almaty’s favourite, Edige Nurgozha and he claimed the first gold medal for the host region’s team.
The dream final was not realized at the lightweight (60kg) in Oskemen, as the Asian Youth Champion Aldiyar Bakhadur lost to Ruslan Ruslanov of Almaty in the semi-finals by split decision. Ruslanov was not able to repeat his incredible performance in the finals therefore Daniyar Akbisenov won the title in this busy weight class.
Akmola region’s favourite, Ali Mereke lost his first preliminary bout in Oskemen, while Gayrat Iristayev of Turkistan region also missed the medal. In their absence in the final bout, the 16-year-old local boy, Aldiyar Bayandinov was crowned after beating Amir Ramazan for the gold medal.
Dzhambul region’s Beibarys Ashirbay accomplished his mission is the event, the gold medal with solid performance, while Khamza Maksatuly of Almaty was able to beat Daniyal Kaldykhan of Turkistan region at the next middleweight (75kg) final.
The Asian Junior Champion Timur Taybekov is one of the best Kazakh hopes among the 2008 born boxers and he won the light heavyweight (80kg) with clear dominance in all of his five contests, including in the final against Nurbek Kyzdarbek.
Karagandy region’s Nursultan Kystaubay, Almaty’s 16-year-old Yerketan Zharkynbek and Ulytau region’s Vladislav Samozhonov claimed the gold medals in the heaviest weight categories.
