The boxing tournament of the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games will be starting with Asian favourites today

The Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games will be starting with its first competition day in the Argentinean capital later today which event is one of the highlights of the whole year. The Asian boxers are ready to show their top skills in Buenos Aires and following the Singapore and Nanjing editions our young hopes are among the gold medal contenders.
The boxing tournament of the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games contains five competition days and due the low number of participants there will be Box-offs for the bronze medals. The competition schedule contains altogether 109 bouts and the finals will be taking place on October 18.
The women boxers can attend in four weight categories as flyweight (51kg), featherweight (57kg), lightweight (60kg) and middleweight (75kg). The men boxers will be competing for the titles in nine divisions in Buenos Aires: flyweight (52kg), bantamweight (56kg), lightweight (60kg), light welterweight (64kg), welterweight (69kg), middleweight (75kg), light heavyweight (81kg), heavyweight (91kg) and super heavyweight (+91kg).
Following the tough qualification process which were held in each continent between April and June the selected 28 women and 55 men boxers will be attending in the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games. Among them the 17 Asian boxers including 6 women and 11 men talents are focusing to the medals of the boxing event.
Afghanistan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Thailand and Uzbekistan received the right among the Asian nations to compete in the Youth Olympic Games. The qualification event for the boxing event of the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games was the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok in our continent.
Uzbekistan’s AIBA Youth World Champion Abdumalik Khalokov (56kg), Thailand’s AIBA Youth World Champion Atichai Phoemsap (60kg), Uzbekistan’s powerful Jakhongir Rakhmonov (69kg), Kazakhstan’s AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships silver medallist Aybek Oralbay (91kg), Kazakhstan’s flag bearer in the Opening Ceremony Damir Toybay (+91kg), India’s AIBA Women’s Youth World Champion Jyoti (51kg) and Kazakhstan’s best female hope Zhansaya Abdraimova (51kg) could be the Asian stars in the Youth Olympic Games.
