The Boxing Family in Turkmenistan celebrates its 34th Independence Day in all regions of the country which is the most important holiday in the Central Asian country.
The Asian Boxing Family wishes happiness, warmest wishes, success, partnership, peace and progress in all aspects of life for the people in Turkmenistan.
The Turkmenistan Independence Day is celebrated on September 27 every year as a national holiday commemorating the country’s independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 on this day. The Independence Day celebrates in all cities and regions in Turkmenistan with flag parades, cultural events, and patriotic songs.
The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 and separated into 15 new independent nations including five Central Asians which strengthen our continent’s boxing life in the Asian Games and in the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships as well.
Turkmenistan achieved its first ever gold medal in the continental level at the Zhuhai 2009 ASBC Asian Men’s Elite Boxing Championships when Serdar Hudayberdiyev achieved the title of the lightweight (60kg) in China.
Their Nursahat Pazzyyev achieved bronze medal at the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships at the middleweight (75kg). They had quarter-finalists in the recent two editions of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships but Bayramdurdy Nurmuhammedov bagged a bronze at the 2023 Asian Games.
Turkmenistan claimed one silver and two bronze medals at the 2023 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Astana. Dayanch Durdynepesov achieved a historic gold medal for them at the 2023 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Kazakhstan which was their record-breaking event.
Turkmenistan showed its amazing grassroots level in the Kuwait City 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships where the country ranked No.5 and achieved two silver and two bronze medals. Their schoolboys reached further strong results since the 2019 edition and they keep the focus on the next events.
