The Asian Boxing Family mourns Taha Dawood Al Baidhani

The Asian Boxing Family mourns Iraq’s former boxer and, Mr. Taha Dawood Al Baidhani who passed away this week.
Mr. Taha Dawood Al Baidhani invested more than five decades into the sport as a boxer and a coach. He was one of the best boxers in Iraq in the 1970s who competed in several countries abroad including Indonesia and Egypt to show his skills and talent.
Al Baidhani, who proudly carried the banner of Al Shorta Sports Club and he flew Iraq’s flag high in the Asian and Arab competitions. He was more than a simple boxer, he was the symbol of courage and true sportsmanship in Iraq.
He supervised the training of the boxers at the Al Shorta Sports Club and the Palestine’s Haifa Club but he also worked as the head coach of Team Yemen.
Athletes, coaches and his former students mourned him with heartfelt tributes, affirming that he was more than a coach, the builder of the school of ethics and perseverance.
The Asian Boxing Family will never forget his achievements in our sport and his support to develop the sport as a boxer and a coach in Iraq.
May his soul will rest in eternal peace in Iraq.
