The Asian Boxing Family mourns Jasem Delavari

The Asian Boxing Family mourns one of the top Iranian super heavyweight boxers, Jasem Delavari following he passed away at the age of 39 after a long illness.
Iran’s former boxer worked as a coach with the national team in the recent years and he prepared for his next stage of life after his boxing career.
He was born in the city of Juybar on September 2 in 1986 and he started his boxing career during his elementary school studies.
Delavari joined the international stage of boxing at the 2005 Asian Junior Boxing Championships which was held in Karachi, Pakistan where he achieved a silver medal at the super heavyweight.
He was involved to Team Iran in 2006 and the 20-year-old youngster not only competed at the Asian Games in Doha but he bagged a bronze medal in Qatar losing only to the eventual winner star, Rustam Saidov of Uzbekistan.
He competed at the 2007 Asian Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar and the World Boxing Championships in Chicago in that year. His best result in an Asian Boxing Championships was a bronze from the 2013 Amman edition.
His last main international event was the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon where he defeated China’s Gu Guangming, South Korea’s Kim Do Hyeon, Uzbekistan’s Mirzokhid Abdullayev and advanced to the final of the super heavyweight. Delavari was a hard opponent in the final for Kazakhstan’s Ivan Dychko and he achieved a silver medal after that exciting bout.
The Asian Boxing Family will never forget his medals, successes and strong results in our sport and also his nice personality.
