Thailand sends big delegation to the upcoming edition of the Shopokov Memorial Tournament which will be one of the strongest ones in the history of the event

The next Asian competition will be the 43rd edition of the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament for the elite women and men boxers in Kyrgyzstan’s capital city in Bishkek. The upcoming Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament will be one of the strongest events in comparison to the recent years.
Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Qatar, Russia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan registered to attend in the upcoming Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament. A European boxing power Belarus will be returning to Kyrgyzstan’s biggest international event after many years.
Thailand has been preparing to the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships which will be held in Bangkok from April 16 and their officials decided to send a big team to Bishkek. Record number of more than 20 Thai boxers will be attending in the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament to prepare well to their upcoming home event and the competition is also a selection competition for them.
Mr. Duisenkul Shopokov was the hero of the Soviet Union who died during the Great Patriotic War at the Battle of Moscow in December 1941. The tournament was named after him and the next competition will be the 43rd edition in Bishkek where several strong nations have registered to take part in Kyrgyzstan’s capital.
The host nation of the event claimed five gold medals in the 40th and also in the 41st edition of the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament in Bishkek in the recent years. In the last edition Kyrgyzstan won seven out of the twelve women and men weight classes in Bishkek. Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, China and Uzbekistan all achieved gold medals in the recent editions of the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament.
According to Mr. Daniyar Jusubaliev the head coach of the Kyrgyz Republic and another national coach Mr. Akyikat Abayev more than 40 elite women and men boxers will be taking part from the host nation in the 43rd edition of the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament in the front of the home crowd.
Kyrgyzstan’s ASBC Asian Confederation Champion and AIBA Asian & Oceanian Olympic Qualification Event bronze medallist Azat Usenaliev is their top boxer who claimed also bronze in the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games. Kyrgyzstan’s new generation as Rustam Muratov, Sirodjiddin Abdullaev, Munarbek Seyitbek Uulu, Argen Kadyrbek Uulu, Bek Kamchybekov, and Abdurakhman Abdurakhmanov are all planning to attend in Bishkek.
Rio 2016 Olympian and Kyrgyzstan’s flag bearer in the Opening Ceremony of the Games Erkin Adylbek Uulu is also in top form. The 28-year-old light heavyweight (81kg) boxer won all of his contests by large margin of differences in the last edition of the Kyrgyz National Boxing Championships in November.
