Ten new winners in the Syrian Junior National Olympiad

The Syrian Junior National Olympiad was held in the historical city of Aleppo which is located off the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Among Syria’s best junior boxers Redwan Kallol, Muhammad Atrash, Odai Al-Masri and Ahmad Essa all won their weight classes in the Junior National Olympiad.
The Syrian elite boxers shined in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Tashkent and in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku this year. Their next generation is ready to show their talents and boxing skills in the upcoming international junior and youth competitions.
The competition was held for the junior age group in Aleppo which boxers could be the future stars in our sport. The 2001-2002 born boxers could compete in the Syrian Junior National Olympiad and among them some could be member of their national youth team in the important year of 2018.
The first gold medal of the whole event was achieved by Osama Tabaa who defeated Fadi Mamlouk and Shadi Mhawesh in the final stages of the pinweight (46kg). Redwan Kallol arrived from a boxing family, his elder brother is also a successful boxer in Syria, therefore the young talent tried to follow the traditions. The 16-year-old light flyweight (49kg) talent was too strong for Yehya Abo Zead in the final of the competition.
The next gold medal in the Syrian Junior National Olympiad was achieved by Sayed Ahmad Sayed at the flyweight (52kg) where he was too strong for Salah Saadalden. Muhammad Atrash competed in several national events and claimed silver in the 2016 Syrian Junior National Championships. The 16-year-old talent changed the brightness of medal into gold in Aleppo where he stopped Jafar Sayed in the final.
Syrian Junior National Championships silver medallist Sayed Asad Sayed is Sayed Ahmad Sayed’s brother who claimed gold at the flyweight (52kg) in Aleppo. Sayed Asad Sayed repeated his brother’s performance and achieved the title at the lightweight (60kg) after beating Jafar Esmayel in the final.
Odai Al-Masri came from a boxing family and continued the great image of his name in the Syrian Junior National Olympiad. The 16-year-old talent was too smart for Khalil Al-Alwi and celebrated his title after the final bell. Ali Khalil demonstrated his power against Jawad Soliman in the final of the light middleweight (70kg) and won the next gold medal of the Syrian Junior National Olympiad.
Following Fakhem Sliteen’s gold at the middleweight (75kg), a powerful talent Rashed Ali won the title at the light heavyweight (80kg) after stopping Abdallah Sheikh in Aleppo. Syria has got always great boxers at the heavyweight (+80kg) in the junior age groups as well and Ahmad Essa could be their next sensation in this category.
