Super talented Namuun Monkhor was the star in the Mongolian Youth National Championships

The Mongolian Youth National Championships was held in their capital city in Ulaanbaatar where six women and eight men champions were crowned. Mongolia’s super talented woman boxer Namuun Monkhor dominated her weight class and secured her next national title before her 18th birthday.
Their women and men boxers also could take part in the Mongolian Youth National Championships in Ulaanbaatar. Altogether 71 women and 175 men boxers attended in the Mongolian Youth National Championships which is a new record in the history of the competition in this age group.
The winners of the Mongolian Women’s Youth National Championships could be competed at the AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships later this year while the champions of the Mongolian Men’s Youth National Championships have got chance to box in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in 2017.
Balsan Mungunsaran moved down to the light flyweight (48kg) following her junior ages and made her debut in the youth event. The 17-year-old talent was enough strong to beat G. Nomin-Erdene in the semi-final and following that triumph she continued her winning path in the final against L. Michidmaa.
Batbold Khongorzul moved back to the Olympic flyweight (51kg) and her decision was successful in the Youth National Championships where she defeated all of her rivals. Munguntsetseg Enkhjargal was the favourite at the bantamweight (54kg) who competed in the youth age group in 2016. The 18-year-old talent dominated her final fight against E. Michidmaa and secured her next title.
Namuun Monkhor is Mongolia’s extra talent who won their Elite National Championships two-times and continued her winning path in the event in Ulaanbaatar. The super talented featherweight (57kg) boxer did not give any chance to her opponents in the national event and proved she could be also a favourite in the AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships later this year.
Lkhagvadorj Angarag is an experienced women boxer who competed in the national events since 2012 when she began her boxing career. The 17-year talent had to meet in the final of the lightweight (60kg) with another national team member boxer, Rentsenlkhagva Otgonbayar, but she was able to solve that tactical job in Ulaanbaatar. Oyungurel Khurel-Erdene won a Russian tournament in 2016 and her international experiences were enough to win the sixth woman gold medal in the Nationals.
The men’s light flyweight (49kg) saw 33 boxers in actions in the event which shows the great commitment to boxing in Mongolia. Erkhembayar Bayarsaikhan was bronze medallist in the last edition of the Mongolian Junior National Championships but this time he was able to defeat all of his opponents including strong Buyandalai Bayarkhuygun in the final.
Teshkargal Enkhtur was bronze medallist in the Mongolian National Championships before his 17th birthday and proved he is a big talent in the country. The young flyweight (52kg) hope controlled his final bout against D. Ganbayar in the category where 32 talents took part for the medals.
Byambatsogt Tuguldur is their best athlete in the youth age group who has got big chance to win medals also in the international competitions. He claimed bronze in the last edition of the Mongolian National Championships and after that great success he was able to beat all of his youth rivals at the bantamweight (56kg). His most difficult bout was the semi-final against Battulga Batchuluun but his speed was enough to beat his rival.
Amankeldi Khabdalmajid is a Kazakh-descent boxer who won the gold medal in the 2016 Mongolian Junior National Championships. Following that title he moved up to the youth age group this January and proved he is a top talent in Mongolia. Erdenebold Shijirbaatar competed at the 2015 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Tashkent and his international experiences were the key to the success against Otgonbat Batzorig in the final of the light welterweight (64kg).
