Strong Indian boxers are competing in the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas

Strong Indian women and men youth boxers are competing in the Commonwealth Youth Games in Nassau, Bahamas where the Asian hopes have got medal expectations. The first competition day in the multisport event is July 19 where India’s AIBA Youth World Champion Sachin Siwach Singh is one of the best Asian hope.
Boxers who were born in 1999 and in 2000 are eligible to compete in the Commonwealth Youth Games in Nassau. The number of the women’s weight classes is three, the official Olympic categories: flyweight (51kg), lightweight (60kg) and middleweight (75kg). The men youth boxers can compete in eight divisions from the light flyweight (49kg) up to the light heavyweight (81kg) in the boxing tournament of the Commonwealth Youth Games.
India’s best weapon in Nassau, AIBA Youth World Champion Sachin Siwach Singh eliminated Thailand’s youngest team member Thitisan Panmod in the semi-final of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships but he lost to Uzbekistan’s Samandar Kholmurodov in the final in Bangkok. Short after his appearance in the Asian continental event the promising Indian hope will be competing for the title in Nassau.
ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships bronze medallist Muhammed Etash Khan is another Indian youth talent. He competed in the last two editions of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Pavlodar and in Bangkok. The 17-year-old Muhammed Etash Khan defended his Indian youth throne this January and he is among the gold medal contenders at the bantamweight (56kg) in Nassau.
India’s new woman youth sensation Ekta won their regional championships and following that success she was able to win her third national title this January. The 16-year-old boxer, who trains with Ravi Sangwan, controlled her semi-final and final contests in the Olympic flyweight (51kg) in the Indian Youth National Championships and has got also gold medal expectations in Nassau.
Besides to the Indian delegation in the Commonwealth Youth Games, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh also sent talents to the important multisport event. Both countries have sent women and men boxers as well to develop their newcomers’ experiences.
