Solanki, Hussamuddin, Lal and Al-Kasbeh are the Asian finalists in the Chemistry Cup

The Chemistry Cup is one of the strongest European international competitions where three Asian teams are attending as preparation for the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games. India has got three finalists in the 45th edition of the Chemistry Cup following Gaurav Solanki, Madan Lal and Mohamed Hussamuddin defeated their rivals on Day3 when Jordan’s Obada Al-Kasbeh remained his chance alive to win the gold medal in Halle.
India’s Commonwealth Games gold medallist Gaurav Solanki robbed to the elite boxers this year following his successful youth career. The 21-year-old Indian flyweight (52kg) talent landed more punches than Ireland’s Conor Quinn who replaced Rio 2016 Olympian Brendan Irvine in the team. The Indian talent used his best combinations in the second and third rounds which delivered for a place in the final for Solanki.
India’s Mohamed Hussamuddin won bronze medal in the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and has done superb performance in the third competition day in Halle as well. The 24-year-old Indian bantamweight (56kg) boxer had to face with Germany’s best future hope Hamsat Shadalov who eliminated Cuba’s two-time Olympic Games winner Robeisy Ramirez in the quarter-finals. In spite of the previous result of the strong German boxer Hussamuddin followed his well-built tactic and defeated Shadalov in Halle advancing to the final of the event.
Russia’s former EUBC European Youth Champion Vasilii Vetkin eliminated surprisingly US teenage star Marc Castro on Day1 and he used the same aggressive tactic in the semi-final against India’s Madan Lal. The Russian bantamweight (56kg) boxer tried to avoid the Indian attacks and his right-handed hooks were dangerous. Lal had powerful punches in the second round and the Russian boxer had to go to the medical corner as well. Lal was enough fresh in the third round to eliminate his Russian rival which means the two Indians meet each other in the final of this category.
Jordan’s Rio 2016 Olympian and Asian Games bronze medallist Obada Al-Kasbeh eliminated Russia’s former AIBA Junior World Champion Ivan Kozlovskii in the quarter-final of the light welterweight (64kg). Jordan’s experienced boxer and his Indian opponent Dheeraj Singh both launched plenty of clear punches in the first round. Al-Kasbeh pressurized his Indian opponent and used some Cuban style in his boxing which was the benefit of their previous training camp in Havana. Al-Kasbeh never stop attacking in the whole contest and his physical advantage was enough to beat his Indian opponent in Halle.
