Singapore’s National Boxing Championships is scheduled to take place in December
Many of the Asian National Federations are hosting their National Championships or planning to arrange competitions in the upcoming weeks. One of the next events on the stage will the Singaporean National Championships next month.
Singapore Boxing Association is planning to host its National Championships in Singapore on the 20th of December which is the main competition for the country every year. The President of the Singapore Boxing Association Mr. Syed Abdul Kadir was the country’s best boxer in the 1970s and currently he is member of the Asian Boxing Confederation’s Executive Committee.
Singapore competed in the last edition of the Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines and in the recent editions their hopes achieved medals on the multisport event. The country hosted the 2015 edition of the SEA Games where Mohamed Hanurdeen Bin Hamid and Tay Jia Wei both achieved silver medals as top result of the country.
Singapore competed in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and also at the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament. Singapore sent boxers also to the last edition of the Penang Pesta International Boxing Tournament to Malaysia and to the first ASBC Asian Grand Slam Boxing Championships.
The women’s elite, the men’s elite and the youth boxers can attend in the upcoming Singaporean National Championships. Their developing women boxers joined to the international events in 2014 and since then their girls attended in all of the ASBC Asian Women’s Elite Boxing Championships. The competition is also a selection tournament before the top international events of 2021 where the Singaporeans are planning to attend including the next edition of the Southeast Asian Games. The new Southeast Asian Games and its boxing tournament is scheduled to take place in Hanoi, Vietnam from November 21 until the December 2.
