Abdalrahman Touban was the best boxer in the Saudi Arabian Junior National Championships

Saudi Arabia is a developing boxing nation in the Western Asian region which country is trying to reach better result in the international level in the upcoming years therefore their new developing programs contain more competitions to their young boxers. The Saudi Arabian Junior National Boxing Championships was held in Al-Qasim where new talents shined in the local competition.
Their Schoolboys National Championships was held last month and their next event was held for the junior boxers where athletes who were born in 2000 or in 2001 could register to the competition. Finally 52 boxers qualified from the regional competitions for the final phase of the Saudi Arabian Junior National Championships where twelve weight categories were in action in the championships: 46 kg, 48 kg, 50 kg, 52 kg, 54 kg, 57 kg, 60 kg, 63 kg, 66 kg, 70 kg, 80 kg and +80 kg.
Al-Taraji became the best team in the Saudi Arabian Junior National Championships with four gold and three silver medals. The runner-up team in the competition was Damak which squad also claimed four gold medals and they have got also one silver medallist in the event. Oqaz and Riyadh both achieved two top positions in the national event in Al-Qasim.
Talented 15-year-old Abdalrahman Touban from the Oqaz Boxing Club became the best boxer in the Saudi Arabian Junior National Championships who defeated Musa Ali Al-Salim of Al-Noor in the final of the Light Bantamweight class (52 kg). Touban has got good chance to box in the international level in the upcoming months. Another Oqaz boxer Abdelaziz Mohamed Al-Omari was able to win the Heavyweight class (+80 kg) in Al-Qasim where he stopped all of his rivals.
The first gold medal of the Saudi Arabian Junior National Championships was delivered by Mohamed Ali Aizibi who trains in the capital city in Riyadh and defeated Ali Al-Ramadan in the final of the Pinweight class (46 kg). His teammate Mohammed Adib Al-Hashimi secured Riyadh’s second gold medal in the championships, the 15-year-old boxer was too strong for Ali Salah Al-Khuzam in the Lightweight class (60 kg).
Saudi Arabia is planning to send their best juniors to the boxing tournament of the Children of Asia Games which will be helding in Yakutsk, Russia in July.
