Rustambek Uulu, Eshaish and Daniyarov are finalists at the Islamic Solidarity Games

Kyrgyzstan’s Nuradin Rustambek Uulu, Jordan’s Zeyad Eshaish and Uzbekistan’s Madiyar Daniyarov are all finalists at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Islamic Solidarity Games is multisport event hosts every four years and boxing is one of the key sports in their official program. Athletics, swimming, judo, weightlifting, table tennis, fencing, wrestling, equestrian, taekwondo, karate, wushu and many others sports are also in the agenda as well.

Saudi Arabia has a growing sports industry and their Islamic Solidarity Games is the next exemplar for their huge commitment and investment to build up an excellent image.

Uzbekistan’s Zilolakhon Yusufova competed in several editions of the Asian Junior and Youth Boxing Championships and she joined the elite age group this year. The Uzbek teenager had difficulties in the first round against Turkey’s Rabia Topuz but she changed her rhythm to make a big U-turn from the second.

Uzbekistan’s Khumorabonu Mamajonova developed rapidly in terms of technical and tactical skills therefore she had the strong game play to start well against Algeria’s Chahira Selmouni. The Uzbek featherweight (57kg) boxer was also better than the North African in the second round therefore Mamajonova joined the finals.

Kyrgyzstan’s Nuradin Rustambek Uulu achieved his first Asian title as a youth boxer in 2019 and the 24-year-old boxer can prepare to the final of the Islamic Solidarity Games. The Kyrgyz No.1 eliminated a dangerous Egyptian, Ahmed Hekal and he could save some fuel for the title contest.

Jordan’s Zeyad Eshaish earned medals in several top championships during his career but the 27-year-old boxer is still motivated for the next targets. He increased his tempo after the first round against Azerbaijan’s World Championships bronze medallist Sarkhan Aliyev and after the standing count, it was clear that Eshaish is the better boxer.

Uzbekistan’s Madiyar Daniyarov robbed into the world of boxing four years ago when he won a strong international youth event. The lightweight (60kg) boxer started the first round slowly against Iran’s World Championships bronze medallist Daniyal Shakhbakhsh but Daniyarov had the strategic change in time to turn back their semi-final.

Uzbekistan’s promising 20-year-old Abdullokh Madaminov is Asian U22 Champion and he has brilliant technical skills but Iraq’s Ali Hamdan Al-Sarray was not an easy opponent in the semi-finals. The Iraqi was competitive in the first and third rounds but Madaminov controlled most of the exchanges well enough to win this semi-final bout.
