Rozumbayev defended his throne at the Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships  

The Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships arranged its fantastic final bouts at the famous Bakhodir Jalolov Sports School in Tashkent. Asilbek Rozumbayev defended his throne in the schoolboys age group and he proved a sensational performance once again.

The boxers from the Bakhodir Jalolov Sports School claimed four gold medals in the Schoolboys National Championships.

Their youngest boxers from the 2011 and 2012 age groups could compete in the Schoolboys National Championships.

The Bakhodir Jalolov Sports School has an important role in the country’s physical and technical trainings in the youngest generation of boxers in Tashkent. The sports school was established only a few years ago but it has produced already some of the national champions and international tournament winners.

The total number of boxers was 395 in this edition of the Schoolboys National Championships from the 33kg weight class to the +70kg. All of the official categories such as the 33kg, 35kg, 37kg, 40kg, 43kg, 46kg, 49kg, 52kg, 55kg, 58kg, 61kg, 64kg, 67kg, 70kg and +70kg were in actions in Tashkent.

The most popular category are the 40kg, 43kg and 46kg divisions with the participation of 35 pugilists in each. There are also 30 boxers in the smallest 33kg weight category where the minimum limit is 30kg for all of the participants.

Bekhruzbek Merganboyev from the Bakhodir Jalolov Sports School was the main favourite at the 33kg weight class and he accomplished his goal against Shokhjakhon Bakhtiyorov winning the final unanimously.

The ASBC Asian Schoolboys silver medallist Asilbek Rozumbayev is the top boxer in this age group at the Bakhodir Jalolov Sports School. The 14-year-old boxer eliminated his main opponent, Temurkhon Bakhtiyorov of Tashkent already in the semi-finals and Fayozbek Noraliyev was also not able to stop him at the 35kg final.

Tashkent region’s Sarmat Shokarimov moved up one category to the 37kg weight class since his last international event and he won all of his four contests by split decisions including Jafarbek Asatilloyev in the final of the Schoolboys National Championships.

Namangan’s Mukhriddin Khamidjonov was the favourite at the 40kg weight class but he lost already his first preliminary bout and Kamol Soliyev of Bukhara earned the title finally. Rakhmonali Samadov and his teammate, Khasanbek Salomov both impressed in their 43kg and 46kg weight categories in Tashkent.

Andizhan’s Mukhammaddiyor Kakhorjonov walked over to the finals of the 49kg against the favourite Oybek Alimjonov and Javokhir Nematjonov was also not able to keep his rhythm before Ferghana’s Khojiakbar Mirzamakhmudov captured the gold at the 52kg.

A top international boxer, Elshod Shokirjonov moved up to the 55kg weight class and the Bakhodir Jalolov Sports School member was too smart from Rashidbek Akramjonov. Jakhongirjon Usmankulov also proved his talent already in the international stage of boxing and he dominated the 58kg final over a local boy, Asilbek Abdujalolov.

Tashkent region’s Khamzat Turopov (61kg) and Khadyatullokh Saydullayev (64kg) both impressed in their weight categories, taking the Uzbek national titles. The Bakhodir Jalolov Sports School’s Ibrokhim Mirzakarimov caused a sensation at the 67kg final when he knocked out the gold medal contender Meirambek Aliyev.

Kashkadarya region’s Ezmir Uktamov also shocked his final opponent, Islombek Karimboyev and the referee stopped their 70kg final contest in the first round. Bukhara’s Timurbek Kholmurodov achieved the last title of the event after beating Azim Urazaliyev of Tashkent region at the +70kg final bout.
