Palestine will send its best team to Dubai
Palestine will send its best boxers to the upcoming IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships which will be held at the Dubai Tennis Stadium on December 2-13.
The coaches of Palestine, Mr. Walid Al-Baytouni and Mr. Ibrahim Al-Kasbah selected the team which will lead by their team manager, Mr. Oday Mefleh in Dubai.
The teams can arrive to Dubai on November 30, the first competition day is December 3 while the finals are schedule to be held on December 13.
The total prize money of the IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships will be 8.32 million US dollars and the best 104 boxers can earn these amounts in Dubai.
Ahmad Waleed will be competing at the lightweight (60kg) in Dubai from next week and he developed technically and tactically a lot this year therefore the coaches selected him to participate in the World Championships.
Abed Abunab is their welterweight (67kg) hope in the national team who competed in the 2022 edition of the Asian Boxing Championships in Amman, Jordan. The promising boxer took part also in the Boxam Tournament in Spain this February and he has the routine to win contests in Dubai.
Abdelrahman Abu Naser moved up to the light middleweight (71kg) this year and he is looking forward to his World Championships’ debut in Dubai.
Qasem Abudabaat is one of the most experienced boxers in Palestine and he will compete at the middleweight (75kg). He knocked out his Sri Lankan opponent in the first preliminary round of the 2017 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Tashkent and only the eventual winner Uzbek star, Israil Madrimov stopped him. He claimed a bronze medal at the 2019 edition of the Arab Boxing Championships and he returned to the squad after a break.
Palestine prepared hard for the IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships in the recent weeks despite the situation in the country.
