Only one day left to the start of the first historical ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships

Only one day left until the start of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships which will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan which will be starting with its sport entries check, technical meeting, official draw and opening ceremony on the 21st of January. ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and ASBC Executive Director Mr. Ali Salameh will be arriving to Tashkent, Uzbekistan on the 21st.

The first competition day of the event will be the 22nd in Tashkent which hosted the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in 2017. The finals are scheduled on the 28th and 29th of January in the Uzbekistan Universal Sports Complex which is the venue of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships.

Several of the teams arrived already to Tashkent and trains in the competition venue to finalize their preparations before the start. The Malaysians leading with coach Mr. Rustam Saidov joined to the Uzbek training camps earlier. The management of Jordan Boxing finally decided to send their team to the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships

The Technical Delegate of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships Mr. Viorel Sima of Romania finalized the venue of the competition in the recent two days. The venue of the championships is ready to welcome the boxers of this first historical competition which finally launched with its opening edition.

The ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships will support the next generation boxers to achieve their goals in the upcoming years and increase their international experiences. Many of the registered athletes are medallists from several previous elite and youth championships therefore the quality will be enough high.

As the event was postponed from December 2021, the 23-year-old boxers who were born in 1999 were also allowed to attend in the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships. This decision means that boxers who were born in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 are eligible to attend in the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships. Five age groups can compete each other in the

The women’s boxers can attend in the official 12 weight categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the heavyweight (+81kg). The men’s boxers are allowed to attend in the 13 divisions from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg). The venue of the event is the Uzbekistan Universal Sport Complex where the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships was also held in December 2021.

The Uzbekistan Boxing Federation will be the host also of the 2023 IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships and their management has got the experience to arrange big events in the highest possible quality.
