New stars were born at the pinweight and flyweight in the CIS Games

The boxers at the men’s pinweight (46kg) and flyweight (50kg) impressed at the Commonwealth of Independent States Games which had busy sessions in Azerbaijan.
Eight cities are hosting the CIS Games in Azerbaijan and boxing is running at the Yevlakh Olympic Center until October 5.
Tajikistan’s Damir Nazarov had tough local opponents in his homeland but he fought out his place in the national squad to take part in the Games. Nazarov stepped into the gas in time to stop Turkmenistan’s Selim Meredov while Uzbekistan’s Utkirbek Norkosimov also shined in this strong pinweight (46kg).
Tajikistan’s Azamjon Khasanov shined in the preparation events this year and he prepared well against Russia’s Anvar Dzhalburov before the light flyweight (48kg) meeting. The Tajik gained the immediate control of their meeting and he eliminated another favourite boxer in this weight class.
Kazakhstan’s Baltin Korganbek used his excellent technical skills against Uzbekistan’s Nodirbek Nishonov and he secured his place in the medal phase at the light flyweight (48kg) after beating the neighbouring opponent by 4:1 split decision.
Azerbaijan’s Ali Aliyev outpointed Kyrgyzstan’s Mukhammadali Kanybekov and he became the next medallist boxer at the light flyweight (48kg). His teammates as Aflatun Ismiyev and Raul Heydarli at the featherweight (57kg) also shined in the competition and joined the medal stage of the Games.
Tajikistan’s Bekhruz Umarov amazed in the recent one year with his speed and footwork which he showed against Belarus’ Ramil Hurbanau at the flyweight (50kg). The Tajik received a warning during this quarter-final bout but he had the technical advantage to eliminate his Belarusian opponent.
Uzbekistan’s Azizbek Shokirjonov, Russia’s Ruslan Afinogenov and Azerbaijan’s Aykhan Khasanov are the further medallists at the men’s flyweight (50kg) in the Games.
Kyrgyzstan’s 15-year-old Erbol Baratakhunov had a great finish against Azerbaijan’s Ibrahim Badally while Uzbekistan’s Bekhruzjon Rakhataliyev bowed out a top Russian, Maksim Monastyrskii in the next bantamweight (54kg) quarter-final.
Uzbekistan’s Bobomurod Boymirzayev is one of the aces in the CIS Games and he made a strong step to the final victory when he eliminated Russia’s Mukhammed Magomedov in the quarter-finals of the featherweight (57kg).
