Nepal Boxing Association launched its new Boxing in School Program which is the next phase of their development projects. President of the Nepal Boxing Association Mr. Ram Awale and Honorary Life President of the Nepal Boxing Association Mr. Bishnu Gopal Shrestha together with their new Kazakh coach are the engine of the program.
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Serik Konakbayev together with the ASBC management supported the Nepal Boxing Association during the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Tashkent. Mr. Serik Konakbayev sent a Kazakh trainer Mr. Mukhtar Berdimbetov to Nepal who will be the head coach of the local boxers in the upcoming years.
Altogether 17 boxing schools from Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur were involved to the new project where the Nepal Boxing Association is focusing to the 10-18 year-old boxers. Lalitpur will be holding a boxing event on June 24 while Bhaktapur on June 25 to find talents in the developing country.
Mr. Mukhtar Berdimbetov will observe the events in Lalitpur and Bhaktapur and he is confident about Nepal’s future possibilities. Nepal has got 10,000 registered boxers and among them 500 are women athletes. They are building up their future from the grassroots and as second step Nepal Boxing Association is planning to develop their coaches’ skills with courses and Mr. Berdimbetov’s support.
