Musurmonova, Shen, Mamatova, Kudaigenova and Yangiyeva are near to defend their junior thrones but Abdulloyeva also delighted the crowd

Tajikistan’s Farinoz Abdulloyeva delighted the women’s junior semi-finals in Al Ain today where Uzbekistan’s Maftuna Musurmonova, Chinese Taipei’s Shen Sin Ai, Uzbekistan’s Sevara Mamatova, Kazakhstan’s Alina Kudaigenova and Uzbekistan’s Maftuna Yangiyeva all remained their chance alive to defend their thrones.

The 2008 and 2009 born boxers are able to compete at the junior age group in Al Ain, UAE. Boxers who were born in 2010 and in 2011 are eligible to participate in the schoolboys and schoolgirls competition.

Pakistan’s impressive female medallist, Ayesha Mumtaz tried to keep her Indian opponent, Joni on long with excellent technical skills and her defensive skills and footwork were great in the first round. Joni landed the stronger shots, she was aggressive against the taller technician opponent and she was effective sometimes in the attacks. Mumtaz had the better technical skills, the longer hands but she did not land enough shots to win this semi-final and she will now meet the defending champion Uzbekistan’s Maftuna Musurmonova next Monday.

India’s Junior World Champion Payal had to meet with one of the geniuses, Ukraine’s native talent Kira Makokhonenko in the second semi-final of the light flyweight (48kg). Payal moved forward without any stoppage but Makokhonenko was smarter in most of the exchanges in the first round. The Ukrainian had to change her tactics after the second round which was uncomfortable for her style and the judges favoured the aggressive Indian.

Chinese Taipei’s defending Asian Junior Champion, Shen Sin Ai used her nice counter-attacking style of boxing and she controlled the first and second rounds well enough. Her Indian opponent, Bidya Devi Loitongbam did not give up this flyweight (50kg) semi-final but she was not able to turn back this contest after two rounds of Shen’s dominance.  The 16-year-old super talented girl from Chinese Taipei will have the chance to take her second Asian title against Uzbekistan’s Nilufar Khamdamova.

Uzbekistan’s Robiya Ravshanova achieved her first medals two years ago and she joined the junior national team this year following her national title. The Uzbek faced another talent from Chinese Taipei, Chou Shi Chun in the semi-finals of the light bantamweight (52kg) and she found the best rhythm in time. The Uzbek southpaw used the successful strategy in this semi-final and she will now meet India’s Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari for the title.

Tajikistan’s Junior World silver medallist Farinoz Abdulloyeva used her counter-attacking style of boxing against Uzbekistan’s Farzuna Ruziyeva and she was effective in all of the exchanges. The 16-year-old Tajik was never stopped moving in this contest and she proved her amazing future potentials to beat the Uzbek in the semi-final of the bantamweight (54kg). India’s Amisha Kerketta opened the first round with heavy shots against Mongolia’s Enkhchimeg Sansarmaa and she will be Abdulloyeva’s final opponent.

Chinese Taipei’s Lin Li Jun did not find the best fighting distance in the first round against Ukraine’s Anna Koloturska and she could not adopt the level of this semi-final today. The Ukrainian southpaw was enough strong to win the first and second rounds therefore the entire contest. Koloturska’s next opponent will be India’s Muskan who won all of the three rounds against Kazakhstan’s Aiganym Kadyrkhan at the featherweight (57kg).

Kazakhstan’s Sofiya Vashchenko had the full control on her next contest in Al Ain, she was too quick in the exchanges for Tajikistan’s Mivo Azymzoda and she joined the finals of the women’s lightweight (60kg). Uzbekistan’s Junior World Champion Sevara Mamatova is an ace in their female junior national team and she had the best performance from the second round to beat India’s Shivangi Kachroo in the next semi-final bout.

Kazakhstan’s Alina Kudaigenova was the favourite against Chinese Taipei’s Tsai Chia Hsuan in the first semi-final of the women’s light welterweight (63kg) and she accomplished her minimum goal to reach the finals in Al Ain. India’s Yogima Kalyan caught her opponent Ukraine’s Veronika Holovina with heavy shots mostly in the second round therefore she will now meet for the next female gold medal Kazakhstan’s Kudaigenova.

Uzbekistan’s Aselya Tulegenova won important preparation events this year and she had the strong tactics to beat India’s Hanshika in the first semi-final of the welterweight (66kg). Kazakhstan’s 2023 Junior World Champion Aisulu Mukhit had strong motivation in this competition and she performed well in the quarter-finals but she could not repeat that against Ukraine’s Sofiia Novikova in the last four today.

Uzbekistan’s Khadijabonu Bekova and India’s Lakshu will meet in the final of the light middleweight (70kg) following their narrow successes over their rivals from Kazakhstan and Chinese Taipei. Uzbekistan’s Maftuna Yangiyeva, one of the most experienced junior female boxers in Al Ain, dominated her semi-final at the middleweight (75kg) against India’s Anshika Dabas and the dream final against Kazakhstan’s Zarina Tolybay has realized. India’s Anshika and Uzbekistan’s Mavjuda Abdusaidova will meet in the final of the light heavyweight (80kg) after their clear successes over Ukrainian and Kazakh rivals. Kazakhstan’s Sabina Zhaksylyk caught her semi-final opponent, Jordan’s Jana Alalawneh with heavy head blows and she will meet for the title of the heavyweight (+80kg) India’s Prachi Tokas.
