Mr. Walid Jarrar – The level of the Asian Games was excellent

The boxing tournament of the Asian Games finished in the Indonesian capital where Jordan’s team claimed one bronze medal following 19-year-old Zeyad Eshaish advanced to the last four at the men’s welterweight (69kg). We asked Jordan’s boxing official Mr. Walid Jarrar who worked from the beginning to the finals in the Asian Games.
“The level of the Asian Games was excellent in the venue where we had 194 boxers attending in Jakarta. The organization of the whole competition was perfect and I am satisfied how the local organizers handled the issues in the Indonesian capital.
Uzbekistan arrived with strong team to the Asian Games again and among their stars my favourite boxer is Israil Madrimov who won the gold medal in the men’s middleweight (75kg) in Jakarta.
We are definitely unsatisfied with the performance of our boxers in the boxing tournament of the Asian Games. We achieved only one bronze medal in the Asian Games at the men’s welterweight (69kg) which not makes us happy in Jakarta.
In the previous edition of the Asian Games four years ago we had one silver and two bronze medals in Incheon therefore we have to analyze how we can improve,”
said Mr. Walid Jarrar in the venue of the Asian Games.
